  • Could you tell me something please?

I was wondering if you can save more gas by using cruise control in city and/or highway?!

Do you ONLY use the gas if accelerating or is it also used while crusing?

Ford is my new favorite car company & I'm seriously considering this the Fusion Hybrid!

    Please & Thank You!

    =)

  • Cruise control can help save gas on the open highway. Once you learn how to become a light footed driver, you can often get better mileage without cruise.

Cruise in city environments can be dangerous: you have to watch for too many things. That said, it can be used at lower than freeway speeds & can save gas.

Keep the minimum amount of pressure on the gas pedal, lifting when possible. At cruising speeds, use the SmartGauge to determine how much pressure.

Go take a (long) test drive! :)

  • Awesome review of a great car. Thanks for the in-depth explanation of the workings of the Fusion's Hybrid system and the EV mode. As always, great job!

  • Thanks, TH! :) If we had a few more days with the car, we would have gone a bit deeper, as it was, things were a bit rushed ...

  • wow i've heard that accellerating in electric-only mode was slow but damn, they werent kidding!!

  • Most folks won't take the time (literally) to accelerate under electric power. It's much easier to nail the pedal, get up to speed using the gasoline engine, then let off and invoke the E-power to sustain a glide.

  • The Ford Fusion Hybrid is simply the best midsizer for the times. Ford nailed this product by producing world class MPG results all the while making it easy for the consumer to use. Go Ford!

  • This was the BEST video describing the workings of their system. Thank you so much, a great video as always. I think i like the looks of the Milan better. But that last comment had nothing to do w/ this video Der.

  • now this is very cool

  • Looks interesting. I'm still not so sure I like the look of it. I guess I'm so accustomed to having full instrumentation (tachometer, etc.).

    Five stars!

  • Thx!

There's a tach hidden in there, somewhere ... I didn't have the chance to shoot all the customization features ... only had this one for a short loan. At some point I hope to shoot this one again ...

  • Hey if we want to mainain 60mpg by looking at the tiny gauges all the time?

    Wont that be dangerous?

It will be much more better if they put the

gauges on top of the dashboard or a button to limit the power , cool gauges btw.

  • cool
