Thanks bro, saved my ass! Doing a ten minute final project for school, editing picture and audio, normally its two positions in school. I didn't want to learn protools and transfer sound and such. So this totally helped, FCP has some seriously awesome sound mixing.
Thanks for a wonderful tutorial...I can't seem to get the hang of it though--when I put compression on a clip and make the threshold set to -6, my audio still spikes past that level....but I want it to stop there. How?
@joejumps4fun check to see if your gain filter is set to high. It could be peaking way past where it needs to. the idea is that the gain boosts the level up high enough to just touch into the red. once that is right, the compressor should do the rest of the work for you
