The 'KEY' point with all of this isn't the type of gun used so much as it is the way in which they're used. Limiting the number of rounds to that contained in their actual weapon's magazine is more critical. As a US Marine officer told a non com after he'd blown through all his ammo, "the ammo fairy doesn't come in the middle of a battle and bring you more, you've got what you've got and that's it."
@adrenalynejunky well paintball you use paintball gun what they are useing and airsoft they use bb gun that look and feel like real gun and it more military them paintball
@head920 Far less 'pain' for starters. Range also less with AirSoft. That said, both options have training value, as well as significant cost savings. Mission should be to use ALL methods which leave soldiers better aware of mistakes, before they enter combat.
@blackbrucetube I agree, but not necessarily RAP 4s. They should use a cheap and affordable milsim line of guns to take ammo into consideration instead of using 100 round hoppers. The guns should mimic the C line of rifles as best as possible in terms of weight as well, because paintball guns that are tourney style are inherently lighter then a real rifle.
i think canada needs to have a better french speaking program in school, the one we have now is shit and won't get the job done, u need to start with who people learned to speak English alphabet numbers phrases then work up, not these gay French plays for 2nd graders
I think he means speaking 2nd grade French, as English speaker. They make you do skits/plays to help exercise the curriculum. The system could use improvements without a doubt. I took German for two years in HS, and was speaking that language better at then end, compared with all the years of French
@RhythmDrummer I think that the schools should use flash cards with english and french on both sides of the cards then try to move on to picture visual image language training with audio vioces so that people could learn faster believe me I done that once and got good at another language but I am just not yet reached native speaking level yet I am now on intermediate level I think that I have to live on a foreign country for 1 year to learn how to speak on a native level. french canadians rule!
The guy on the roof at 0:23 looks like he's shooting the guy talking lol.i wonder if he had to look calm and relaxed while talking,I think he was horsing around.
This training was something unique, not part of a nation wide program. Would be interesting to learn if this training had any impact on their ability to perform their mission. Countries such as Israel make far wider use of paintball, with overall good results. Too bad others haven't made the connection.
US rmy elements are now beginning to use something called CCMCK, which uses a marking round similar to Simunitions, while the Marine Corps uses Sims rounds. Two different systems, but the same effect on your target, especially at close range. Trouble is they both only mark well when the target is close, not when they're a couple buildings distance away. No training system is ideal for every situation and don't forget, cost is also a major factor in what's used.
weird...when I was in the canadian army it was much more tougher then doing some paintball simulations...we had to like to loads of obstacle running, survival classes and running a certain distance in the forest with a team of 3 and you had to jump in damn cold canadian water!!
reed70 are u fucking serios canada had won every war its fought and we have fought alot of wars we even defended an american invasion in 1812 dont under estimate canada fuck head
No, I don't beleive so. They did agree to buy some from a firm named Cubic several years ago, plus they've also be borrowing some from the US on an as needed basis.
it would be better to train them with airsoft. Its more realistic and they have way better range and accuracy.

Why not simmunition?
mcdermov1 4 years ago
Effective Range (distance at which round marks a human target) and cost. Compare
Sims round = 65 cents vs pellet = 3 cents.
dorsai 4 years ago
both.... we officaly speek french and english though english is stronger...
ItalianBandit 4 years ago
Because a laser travels at 299,792,458 m/s.
The standard 5.56 NATO round travels at 850 m/s.
That is a big difference in the realism of the situation.
0hypnotoad0 4 years ago
wouldnt a laser travel at the speed of light? or... is that it?

Canada uses WES and MILES
~Thanato
Thanato26 3 years ago
umm, why dont they just play laser tag like the US Army does?
reed70 4 years ago
MILEs as it's called doesn't induce the
same level of STRESS. When you remove
stress from the training, you're not able
to tell who will be able to function when they're under live fire. As you can see,
they're also firing a machinegun while
they're conducting this drill, because
that also helps to raise their stress.
dorsai 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
what exactly are they training for? its not like canada's gonna beat anybody in a war.
reed70 4 years ago
Last I heard they were deployed in Afghanistan, where they're fighting
some pretty serious battles. More
than just a few of them have been
killed, so maybe it's time you got
caught up on current events?
dorsai 4 years ago
yeah, more than just a few? you mean like 100 or so?...that is, according to the news.
