ONLY reason ford has 5 rating systems on their cars is that when they bought volvo in 1998 ( or when it was), ford sucked at saftey, but know they have "acces" to all the saftey a volvo has. So they take it and rename it so people will belive that its a "fords creation". Look on a crash test from frod from 1997, and prepare to today and you know what i mena.
and know when ford has taken all the technology they want they sell volvo to a chinese company just because they will make good money.

Volvo defenetley is not the best off road car you can get for lots of reasons - poor driving position, lack of central lock diff, etc. But I was really surprised to see it do prety well this mud track. If you looking for a real off road car the Volvo is not for you, but if you want to be able to go to your villa up in the mountins after rainy night, it might be enough. Of course the XC90 is a great SUV with lots of sapce, luxury stuff and 7 seats - it's great. Defenetley more than a X5.
I prefer this to the T6 cause it has a 5 spd auto which make it agile acc and on corners. 2.5T is just slightly slower that the T6 from 0-100km/h.
I thought it would be like a Honda CRV being stuck in mud but I was wrong. I still prefer Mitsi Pajero but the XC90 is surprisingly confident off-road even without the real diff.
We've already got the V70 2.4T and prefer this over the T5. T5 has an annoying turbo-lag that puts me off during city driving or in high-gear in motorways (or highways).
Well the weak point in XC90 are the breaks.. not strong enough for this heavy car.

The haldex system does pretty well, you'd be suprised what a good set of tires can get even a 2WD model to do. ITs all about tires.
