I suppose that as a band, you always have the pressure of how to deal with the fans, how will they react, etc.

On the other side, true fans know when their band is screwing up. This is not about the "old sound" or some crap like that, but it's just the fact that since the Avocado album, Pearl Jam lost it.

Ten was great, but it's not 'real' PJ. Vs, Vitalogy, etc were what I believe to be the true PJ sound. Ten was still klinging to the over-produced bands and production methods of the 1980s.

Pearl Jam have never been hardcore in their long career and to hear someone always harking back to Ten is pointless. It was a solid entry but Vs took them to another level. Whilst they will never hit the heights of 'Go' ever again 'The Fixer' is a welcome change to the utter shit they have released this century.
