what a bunch of goddamn fuel nazi's. fucking around 58 mph or 62 on the freeway, what abunch of crap. if you wanna limit me to 67 or 68 i can live with that, but 62.5 is too slow.
This guy has to be pulling for Prime Inc, I use to pull for them and everything he's explaining about fuel and speed is the same thing I use to have to do
Thanks, love the videos, I also drive for a large refridgerated carrier, I know who you drive for and I have a real good friend over there in flatbed. Keep up the videos.
I love watching your videos!!!!!! I want to be a trucker super bad and i was wondering if you had any tips for starters?!?!?!?Keep making videos!!!!!!!!
@supremo502 Trucking school is usually 2-3 weeks. It's very easy to get hired on with a bottom feeder like Werner or Schneider for OTR. The question is why would you want to?
geez $20 dollars for ten minutes is good money over here in New Zealand most truckers only get 17 - 20 new zealand dollar an hour its pretty sh*t pay when the trucker virtualty run the company
I loved watching your videos!! Thank you so much for giving us a little bit of a taste of what you go through! My fiance is a truck driver and I have to say, your job is not easy! I admire you all for doing it! :) I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
haha i love that you got XM listening to stern... im about to start 3 week truck school and i cant wait to start OTR driving, and i already got my XM radio ready. HEY NOW
@pdlsteeler1 Agreed. I get my worst fuel mileage in the winter though due to the crappy winter fuel blend. Summer is great for fuel mileage. Even though I have to drive slow, my company compensates me with a real good fuel bonus when I achieve good mileage. Since I'm driving their truck and they pay for absolutely everything, I simply drive the way they want me to. It's rare to hear me complain about it.
@Sauron767 I don't know what I'd do without my satellite radio! God forbid they ever go out of business. I've been spoiled and never want to give it up!
@LadyNirakina Glad to see there is another trucker out there who enjoys this job and lifestyle. I thought I was all alone! After working in an office for 2 years, I knew that was something I'd never want to do again. I much prefer my "cubicle on wheels!" Stay safe out there, driver!
Love the vids. I am 17 and want to be a truck driver when im 21. my uncle is a truck driver and i go over the road with him a lot. Wish I could see more of the outside of the truck, and do you work for prime
@lovethetruck17 Good deal! I don't really like to announce who I drive for, but I do drive for a major refrigerated carrier. If you're still interested, send me a private message and I'll let you know. I'll also take you up on the advice to shoot more of the outside of the truck. More videos coming next month!
@paulr6 Haha! I've never had to deal with a ferry. I've heard they are a huge pain though. Many drivers from Europe and beyond contact me and say they face the same struggles. Although, I think their living space is even smaller than mine. Stay safe out there and thanks for watching!
great stuff here..thinking about getting my class A..I have loved trucks since I was 5(am 21 now) and this is great..to see how you guys really do your stuff.
@jg875102 Yeah 62 is slow, and I usually drive even slower than that. Not my truck, so I'll drive it however they want. As far as weight, it depends. Most of the time they try to get me as close to 80,000 as they can. But my last run had 2 pallets on it. Only 2,000lbs in the box and it went over 1,000 miles. So it all really just depends on the load.
@lorentsmful Generally, I do have control over it. They take a 3 week average of my fuel mileage. So if the weather conditions are poor this week and I only get 6.25mpg, next week I can most likely make it up. It's not set in stone and if you have a proven track record like I do (I consistently average over 7mpg week after week) they won't just up and fire you. Fuel is the number 1 cost for companies. Just one of those things that I choose not to get upset over.
@WigWagProductions talk about pressure. sounds like 20 years wiped off the end of my life worrying about gas mileage. i wouldn't think about it at all. not worth the stress on me. if i get fired, oh well. get another job.
Those Ports are always a pain...The worst one i have been through is going into colorado from new mexico...up on the pass.....which company do you drive for? My dad has been driving for Knight transportation for about 20 years.
I enjoy watching your videos, I like how you always keep a positive attitude no matter what's thrown at you. I'm taking the plunge in January, thanks for the informative videos! Keep em comin!
@AYLMERTV The opening song is "Into the Great Wide Open" by Tom Petty. The other song is Good Luck and Good Truckin' Tonite by Dale Watson. Thanks for watching!
Im a smaller 21 year old guy and im interested in doing this but im afraid ill be looked down on by other truckers because of my age and stature.
