Movies like Weird Science were brilliantly cheesy. Made in a time where computers were still a relatively new thing to have around the house and no one knew how they worked. Apparently computers could do anything, from turn Barbie dolls into real women, convert matter into data and beam it to a video game, gain sentience simply by having champagne spilled on it, or any other late 80s early 90s sci-fi movie plots.
