thats a pretty fucked up bike for such a pathetic rider. i do gmr all the time (with my chick on back mind you), and your friend was going pretty slow there to then go down and have that much damage to the bike. was it already kinda screwed up to begin with?
That's nothing... The other day a buddy of mine split his R6 into two. He low sided and slammed into a car throwwing his fron wheel and forks 15 feet from the chasis and his gas tank to the side of the rode. Also, the rider following him was too close and slammed into it lifting his bike into the air and bending his forks. Both riders were walking around with minor scraps and cruises. GMR is just toooooo sketchy.
how did he go down? is he inexperienced? took it too fast and used the brake during the turn? didn't look through the turn? that turn isn't that sharp. glad he's ok. gmr is fun, just becareful up there
We used to bomb GMR all day long back in the late 80s/early 90s. We were moronic squids with no respect for the bikes or the sport, and no regard for our safety. And somehow we never wrecked, which was good because we were up there in shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, and no helmets because the helmet law wasn't enacted yet. Holy crap, I miss those days. Not that I'd ever do it again, of course, but I sure do miss it.
Sorry to see this happen to your buddy, crazy he got a hole in his arm from that though. Glad he's ok and the bike seems like it didn't fair too bad. The front side of gmr really takes out alot of people. This is zuki_love btw.
