@gibsosgerbil Yes I have. I've seen some Monty Python sketches, bits and pieces of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and I actually have the entire Fawlty Towers series on dvd. Hilarious! XDD
I wasn't born when this show was on buttttt I loved (and still love) all the other shows that are/were connected to Jim Henson like Sesame Street and all the Muppet cartoons and movies. They're great!
I like John Cleese, but only depending on what he does. "Fawlty Towers" however cracked me up. Also John Cleese was good as King Harold from Shrek 2, but I felt too sorry for Harold in Shrek 3 during the death scene to be amused by it. One episode I remember from "Fawlty Towers" was when some Germans were visiting Basil Fawlty's hotel (this takes place not long after WWII). Unfortunately, he was knocked senseless by a fire extinguisher and imitated Hitler in front of them! I really cracked up!
Benny Hill was considered better than Monty Python by 2 TV stations (WOR and WLVI TV Channel 56 in Cambridge, Ma). I agree! The great bio The Benny Hill Story (by author John Smith) explains more on this! Bio is for sale at amazon!
hmm yeah but it needs a multpling adjective with some sort of ranking adverb maybe and it should be in capital letters so maybe: SUPER EPIC WIN 1ST CLASS TIMES ONE MILLION!
That's pure Monty Python right there. My guess is that John Cleese contributed that. My reference is the Monty Python movie of King Arthur where some of his men get eaten by a giant sketch monster.
I remember being a little freaked out when Gilda Radner was stuck to everything she touched when she accidentally came in contact with some glue Dr. Honeydew made. I was very young and didn't know what real comedy was.
@DrJuliusStrangepork After seeing a few of these episodes, I wish I had been born in the sixties so I would have been old enough to view it when it was originally on tv and old enough to appreciate it. I want more, if at all possible. I think I speak for all us Muppet Show fans; old and new, when I say that you should put up the episode.
I told you I don't work with pigs!
well I'm sorry mr Cleese,
