  • GO SCOTLAND!

  • for uptimum it you just need to make that snake turn around like dinamo.

  • same thing of atmospheric worms made by aliens..you desevered your info from aliens ...happy you understand

  • Do you think number of those "nessies" may affect ecosystem?

  • This is a step in the right direction anyway...

  • nessie???

  • They've already gone beyond this -- look up the Anaconda wave power system -- much simpler, more efficient design.

  • thats really cool!

  • THUMBS

    UP

    !!!

  • flippin amazing, I hope it is green and not affecting sea life or ruining the waters

this guy is genius he's going to be

    a zilllioonaire

  • Wow That seems like pretty awesome work.

  • I live in East Scotland and am researching/working on this technology with a large team of people from three universities and the Aberdeen oil industry. This is a good publicity video.

  • Very cool! Good luck!

  • So if they used the Gulf Stream for power and messed up the course of it you guys in Northern Europe would be fucked right? Pardon my language.

  • Put it this way. The Titanic was 41deg North when she hit that iceberg. Off Norway you won't see an iceberg even at 68deg North.

  • im going to agree with the last response. it sounds like a great idea but at what cost of the enviroment.

  • they're gonna be rich if they get a patent on this invention...

i'd say they're just a few years away from being billionaires....

  • I don't care whether they will be rich or not. Have they done studies on the effect of having loads of these in the water? How will it affect the coastline? How will it affect the breeding or feeding patterns of animals? There is much more to it than our own gratification.

  • they're just like giant buoys in the water. why would this affect breeding patterns. and how is it affecting the coast line it's out in the water. this is a good alternative energy idea.

  • as long as they can do it without polluting the Ocean or the creatures in it.

  • amazing realstic idea

  • great idea.

  • Can't wait to see it in action. Hope it works out...

  • powering 100, 000 homes is nothing on a large scale.

  • I know! They need to make one were it will stretch acroos half of the ocean! lol that would work!

  • It's an amazing invention but of course there are pros & cons about this but I believe Those scientists are intelligent enough to solve it. Good luck :)

  • that was an intresting video ... i like the last part haha u had me going on that one hahaha... that was great you guys are too funny [=

  • Even if we do get wave energy, it won't be able to power our automobiles! Unless, we flood the planet and ride wave powered jet-skis everywhere, damn that would be cool.

  • yes that would be awesome

    one problem

all we would eat would be seafood :O

  • couldnt boats hit them?

  • i would like 2 know more

  • Very cool idea

  • what a brilliant inventor. this i a really innovative and exciting idea. i look forward to hearing future developments,

  • Re: Environmental Impact: What's more important human life and progress or animal life? If you think animal life, then just kill yourself because that's the best, fastest way to help the animals of the world. And I love animals, by the way, but I know that "Human needs outweight animal needs."

  • yes but humans and animals can co-exist happily. Only us humans are being selfish and destroying everything we touch.

  • The smallpox virus & humans cannot coexist happily. Try being happy with a bear when it's hunting you. Animals aren't selfish? Seems to me all organisms pursue their own selfish interests to promote their survival. Destroy everything we touch? Ever seen a Michelangelo sculpture? You'd prefer it was just a big rock? I don't think you actually believe these things because everyday you have the chance to avoid the creations of humanity, yet here you are checking your YouTube account.

  • you have completely missed my point. I was saying that animals and humans can co-exist. I know everyone is fighting to survive. And i am not saying we should reject human advancement. But we are destroying our world not just for animals but for ourselves as well. In a few generations our world is going to be basically dead.

  • and also, we, humans are at the top of the 'foodchain' we have responsibilty. We have power. And yet we are abusing it. We should take only what we need and protect everything else. So many animals are becoming endangered and instinct because we have created a world only we can live in, and in fact we won't be able to live in it much longer.

  • I dare you to show me you believe that and cancel your YouTube account.

  • Personally I don't think Michelangelo is all that great. I prefer rocks sculpted by wind and water that take thousands of years to make. There is nothing wrong with living responsibly. Change our sources of power and quit acting like the Earth is here for our convenience. It is home for more than just us.

  • actually i think i will keep my youtube account to spread the message about l'environnement and stuff.....lol. You got me there!

  • butttt i do help the environment in other ways, to cancel out my internet use. And anyway we should just limit our usage not give it up.

  • Coward, Phony, Hypocrite.

  • go away i don't like you. I was trying to make a joke and end this silly discussion. There is no need to call names. You obviously care about the environment otherwise are you subbed to nationalgeographic and why do you keep commenting on this vid?

  • Fantastic Idea. Not sure about the long term environmental impact, but my guess is that it is leaps and bounds better than petroleum!

  • So no TV or internet gaming on a calm day lol. Guess thats the day to read a book. Argh...no lights. Cant read at night. Oh well......time to make love with the wife :)

  • Actually, it may seem calm, but out at Sea ( no land in sight), There will be Waves, And you can still make love anyway, but in Light. (Wow)

  • this is genius....i guess

  • That dude looks like he has blood splatter on his hard hat at 1:01. lol

  • THIS IS BULLSHIT.. imagen that one of these shits break how many fish would die...

  • if you dont like it, then turn off all ur electrical appliances, forever...cuz if you do, then you are promoting stuff like this

  • how?

  • did you not watch the video SouLsPuritY129?

  • it'd be cool if nationalgeographic did a video about the dead sea, unless they already have.

  • cool...i guess i dont like the i dea of filling the coasts with those things...means no surf... :)

  • They stole my idea...this was my 8th grade science project 15 years ago....

  • This method of power-generation could have potential. Thanks for the upload, NG!

  • omg.... they uploaded so much.

  • as others have stated

    this is OLD :O

  • godamn do it already.

  • We learned about this in physics class the other say. Sounds like a cool idea!

  • wooo scotland! :D

  • they said 100 of those for a small city, think about how it would look like off the coast of new york or los angelas.

But as long as we can get enough to get 121 jigawatts into the flux capacitor i guess well be ok.

  • This would not only generate power but also reduce the impact of waves on shore just a little.

    And they don't pollute.

  • awesome design

  • Often wondered why we didn't do this!

  • me too, i think they have a lead!

    :)

  • because we americans are to lazy todo anything productive with our time and would rather chug beer ;)

thats why we dropped a bomb on japan... not because we wanted to test the bomb... but all the soliders agreed they rather drink beer then go do their job.

  • apparently you are also too lazy to spell words correctly

  • oh boohoo i cant spell correctly. wtf do i care im not as good in english as you are.

  • I prefer the underwater wave-generators much more. They ruin the beauty of the ocean less for us surface-dwellers.

It's a lovely idea though, and he deserves credits for accomplishing it!

  • good idea!

  • This is old, there are meny designs, even on youtube

  • I can see problems with this idea, if it is put into effect, kudos, but yet I doubt it.

  • wow what a fantastic idea! A new way to generate natural energy!

  • HD makes me feel good

  • wish i had the view of the sea

  • that's an amazing idea.

  • TIME TO INVEST!!!!

  • waves!!

  • An excellent idea in the way of getting cheap, efficient, clean, natural energy.
