You are correct that there were V4 cars in existence in the world. I should have been more specific by saying show me a modern V4 car in the US that is successful. They are a bad design because some require balance shafts for smooth operation. And some don't even consider the V4 in those cars you listed to be a true V engine since the pistons dont share a common throw on the crankshaft like all true V style engines do.

@deedundone i could just spend 8 grand on an engine and a tranny for my truck. push 600 horsepower and run 10s since it is a single cab. put 4 grand in the suspension and frame reinforcements and that being said i just spent 13650 to make a 10 second truck. of course not counting the rims and tires and paint job and such. honestly not that bad. compared to the 80k zr1 that runs high 10s.

i agree with you 100%. I have an 86 El Camino with a 350 small block n a Turbo 400 tranny (it's a work in progress), and it kicks ass. But you got to admit, at least the SRT-4 is an American car. Yeah, it's a 4-banger, but at least it ain't a Honda with a V-TEC "swap".

Uh F-body is a way better bang for the buck. you can pick up a ls1 f-body for as low as 6 and it still be clean. I had a stock ws6 with 140k and was beating moderately modded srt4s by 2-3 lengths
I still don't understand how someone could walk into a dealership and see an SRT-4 and say "oh yeah, that's one sweet lookin' ride, I'm totally getting that!"
To each his own, it's a great little performer, but there are SO many other options out there that look and perform better.
04 CTS-V for $15k-$20k, 03-04 Cobra for circa $20k, an 00-02 BMW M5 for $18k-$25k.. The list goes on and on. I honestly don't understand how someone could be like "M5? Pff! Fuck that! I'm getting an SRT-4 baby!
First off its a cts-v not a cts. an 04 cts-v has an LS6 vette motor producing 400 hp from the factory. SRT-4s are great for what they are but the video doesn't state how modded it is. Stock CTS-V can keep up with a stage 2 SRT-4.
I know exactly what CTS-V is and since it's already stated in the description what it is, I didn't think it'd be necesary to write the whole thing for those who nit pick. Just as if I said "Neon" and some dumb ass would run out saying "it's not a Neon, it's an SRT-4 producig 227hp from factory". DUH COUSIN! Do you know how cheap you can get a cts-v? My buddy picked up an 06 with 20k miles for 27k. Not only are you getting ls2 or an ls6 motor, but your getting the luxury with it. Leather w/ suade, heated seats, navi, all the goodies. Not even going to bring up the interior of a SRT. of course you can buy something real cheap and dump money into it, but for every gain there is a loss.

Love how they video cuts off after take off. Unless something is wrong with the C4 or a dumb driver, where the video cuts off the c4 would pick up speed and pass the other two quickly. When horsepower comes in to play, the vette will win.
BTW: who ever said a 5spd 5.7l is like a 305, compaired to an automatic, is an idiot & has no idea how to drive manual transmission.

the 350 TPI iroc's came with the 700R4, if you have a 5 speed then you got yourself a 305, so yep mine's an auto with a shiftkit

i agree with you 100%. I have an 86 El Camino with a 350 small block n a Turbo 400 tranny (it's a work in progress), and it kicks ass. But you got to admit, at least the SRT-4 is an American car. Yeah, it's a 4-banger, but at least it ain't a Honda with a V-TEC "swap".

YEAHHHH i owned an evo. it was fast as hell. but everytime you went fast something went wrong. they are money pits. japs build em on purpose and jack up the price of repairs. i bought an srt8 jeep and havent had a single problem yet. that thing turns way more heads than my evo ever did. Uh F-body is a way better bang for the buck. you can pick up a ls1 f-body for as low as 6 and it still be clean. I had a stock ws6 with 140k and was beating moderately modded srt4s by 2-3 lengths

I still don't understand how someone could walk into a dealership and see an SRT-4 and say "oh yeah, that's one sweet lookin' ride, I'm totally getting that!"
To each his own, it's a great little performer, but there are SO many other options out there that look and perform better.
04 CTS-V for $15k-$20k, 03-04 Cobra for circa $20k, an 00-02 BMW M5 for $18k-$25k.. The list goes on and on. I honestly don't understand how someone could be like "M5? Pff! Fuck that! I'm getting an SRT-4 baby!

It was obvious that SRT had a bad launch but eventually wouldve caught up and passed the CTS. I dont see why they even posted this video.

First off its a cts-v not a cts. an 04 cts-v has an LS6 vette motor producing 400 hp from the factory. SRT-4s are great for what they are but the video doesn't state how modded it is. Stock CTS-V can keep up with a stage 2 SRT-4.

I know exactly what CTS-V is and since it's already stated in the description what it is, I didn't think it'd be necesary to write the whole thing for those who nit pick. Just as if I said "Neon" and some dumb ass would run out saying "it's not a Neon, it's an SRT-4 producig 227hp from factory". DUH COUSIN! And like I said from looking at this video SRT-4 started catching up to it-- all it was is it had a bad launch. I'm pretty sure most will agree. Thank you for uncessary corrections :)

I drove an SRT-4 back in the days and have to admit that I've never been in a car with cheaper interior than that (except my ex's Hyunday Accent). It's so bad it's almost disturbing. So if I were to pick between the Cadi and the SRT you already know what my choice would be. Plus stock vs stock Cadi owns

Do you know how cheap you can get a cts-v? My buddy picked up an 06 with 20k miles for 27k. Not only are you getting ls2 or an ls6 motor, but your getting the luxury with it. Leather w/ suade, heated seats, navi, all the goodies. Not even going to bring up the interior of a SRT. of course you can buy something real cheap and dump money into it, but for every gain there is a loss.
