What the hell kind of shooting was that? It looked like 2 old women at their first target range. It's a miracle they even managed to get those rifles on target.
all i can say is... when your sittin on the back of a horse, and you spot a bear, mntn lion, or coyote mixed in or even any where near your cattle or someone elses cattle your workin for that matter. you can reach down pull your 94 from your scabbbard, and ride hard reins in one hand 94 in the other bring your horse to a dead stop, cock and fire, any one of them criters has got another thing comein... the best gun i own for that particular job.
A 7.62x39, the Kalashnikov aka AK-47 is NOT an assault rifle, It’s semi automatic rifle. Unless you have a manufacturing/FFL and can have a full auto, then it’s an assault rifle. And at that the .30-.30 has more power. As does the . 308 and 30-06 Learn you wepons.........
They are small, accurate and pretty powerful, but, by no means are they lightweight, especially for their size. I can only handle about 15 rounds or so before I quit because it kicks so hard. You'll feel it the next day.
@eatonss My 1956 model 94 weighs in at 6.7lbs. For the ballistics of the cartridge it fires, that is very light even by modern standards. .30-30 is similar in power to 7.62x39, but the Kalashnikov is 1-3 pounds heavier depending on the variant. I realize that comparing a manual repeater to an assault rifle is a bit of a stretch, but still...
How do you figure it isn't lightweight? Sub-7lbs is a very handy carbine in my book. I really wouldn't want anything lighter in a full-power chambering.

You guys should bring a cardboard box and when you crank the lever just point it at the box (as opposed to picking up shells)

@shortthrow50 Its because of irresponsible people, and comments like this, that needless firearms laws are put into place.

@eatonss Are you serious? 30/30 is one of the mildest .30 calibers around. Even with a carbine or trapper 15 rounds of 30/30 shouldn't bother you.
PontoonTeek 1 year ago
@PontoonTeek I wouldn't have posted it if I wasn't serious. With a stock butt plate, you will feel it the next day.

@PontoonTeek he must be like 60 lbs cause i can do 50 through a bolt 30/30 ( stevens 325 ) and i dont feel a thing the next day....

@eatonss I usually put at least 20-30 rounds through mine every time I go out. (not to mention, whatever else I bring). I honestly dont feel it.
Now, after 80 rounds or so through the shotgun, I start to feel that:P

Great rifle.
Everybody should keep one at home.
Small, lightweight, accurate and powerful enough for any basic purposes.
