One small detail, there was not any contact probe on the front (ladder) foot pad. Neil and Buzz were afraid they would trip over it during their moonwalk, so it was removed.
The evidence that they didn`'t go to the moon is crushing. Once people have seen it, there's nothing anyone can do to make them think they really went.
In case anyone is interested, the Apollo mission reports include the precise LM trajectories and attitudes vs time during landing. It would be fun to see a precise animation of a specific mission. Apollo 11 would be the obvious choice since the landing phase was such a cliffhanger.
I did this almost 2 years ago, so I don't remember exactly where I got the track, but it was from the internet. Google "apollo 11 landing audio clip" or something like that and you should find it. I still have the audio clip, I can try to email it to you, it's 3.5MB. Just give me your email address
I've always wanted to try more advanced modeling programs. POVray was all the farther I got. You look like you have a good future ahead of you. Keep up the good work!
Hey animan, considering that when a rocket is on, its on 100%, if you point a rocket nozel with an engine that produces 10,000 pounds of thrust toward the ground, will it make you get closer to the ground or farther away, especially if the lander is only one sixth its earth weight but the 10,000 pounds of thrust from the engine remains at 10,000 pounds of thrust? Hmmmm...
The descent stage had a hypergolic engine with variable thrust from 3000lbs to 10,000 lbs it was not a constant 10,000 lbs of thrust. The thrust upon landing was about 3000lbs and when divided by the area of the exhaust nozzle was around 1.5 lbs per square inch..and no it would not leave a huge blast crater. The harrier jump jet has 27,000 lbs of thrust and it does not leave a crater when hovering.
Partly because I just like this song, but mostly because I thought that the astronauts were CRAZY..=) Don't get me wrong, those guys were my heros when I was growing up. But I'm also an engineer, and I know what it took to get them to the moon, and it's just so amazing to me that they could get there....one shot, no second try..basically do or die mission. it was a hail mary shot.
This was pretty good work. Though a bit more research on who was saying what would have made it more authentic. You had Neil and Buzz voicing the wrong things!
Cool!! absolutely. Congratulations, could've done better with the music. "space Oddity" or "Major Tom" would've fit better, or even "Rocket Man".
Other than that, it was brilliant work. I'm still learning, and your methods teaches me more. The animation was perfectly smooth, great timing. Nobody has ever gotten the human head right, most still make it look like a doll. Everything was in great detail. Especially the control panel. Bet that was a job alone.

The Apollo moon missions were faked in a studio. The evidence is crushing. Here's a link to a partial summary of it.

how long did this take and what program did you use?

This took 15 weeks. The main animation was done in Maya and I used AfterEffects for compositing and Photoshop for the textures.

I've been searching for the "go for landing" audio for a while. Where did you find it?

Thats okay it don't need to use it.
Its just that I heard it once on TV and thought it was cool and wanted to hear it again but had no luck finding it on Youtube.
Thanks anyway.

Pretty good except for the dust kicking up. It would fall much more rapidly instead of raining down like snowflakes because of lack of air.

The LM had a rocket engine with throttle. Not very common, but as you say needed to land on the moon.

A hail mary shot? A hail mary shot that worked perfectly 13 times in a row (exept for Apollo 13)?
