He has broadened the musical landscape of Hip-Hop, and helped change the idea of a rapper (being a middle class citizen and not a "thug"). Of his 5 albums, two are classics, and his last was a masterpiece, but most people can't get over his public persona.

The Police are one of my favorite bands, along with Zeppelin. But I'm guessing you're not into Hip-Hop?
