He broke up w/Kelly because Suzanne had conned him. If he didn't want her, he wouldn't have gone back to her after they broke up the first time. He wasn't annoyed. He thought they wanted two different things, so he broke it off. He later confesses that his life started unraveling when he broke up with her. How can you refute that statement? There's no way to refute it. He says it was a mistake to break up with her. He needed her in order for his life to make sense. That's what he's telling her.

He's staring right at her with "Brenda" or the phone away from him when he says "I love you." Kelly looks back at him. It's him telling KELLY that he loves her. When he tells Brenda AFTER Kelly leaves that they'll be ok & he loves her, this time he winces as he says it. Part of him really wants to stay w/Brenda because of what they had meant to each other, it's not meant to be.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Just like you can't convince me that they *aren't* meant to be together. And I don't believe BD is the majority. If that were the case, there would have been an outrage when she left in S4 and there would have been an outrage when KD were endgame in S10. But there wasn't. A lot of people were satisfied with the ending. The show wouldn't have survived 6 seasons if the majority wasn't happy with the outcome.
The silent majority maybe & a lot of people STOPPED watching.. including me when Brenda left. And I don't believe it was that their love wasn't strong enough because it was deep, intense and quote iris "Far deeper than a box full of memories." I just think people have to fall a part for certain reasons at a time like Brenda had 2 lose Dylan 2 realize her permanent love for him. Some people have 2 fall a part & come back 2gether at different times/the right time 2 grow up & appreciate eachother like they were season 4.I feel cheated that we couldn't see grown up B/D the following season.

That's not what he meant by "maybe." He knew who he wanted, but by her not being there, that allowed him to make the final decision. It wasn't that he might have chosen Brenda if she had been there. It allowed him to make his decision with conviction. And if Kelly was a maybe, that made Brenda a maybe too. There's no way to choose Brenda over Kelly as winning in that situation. He pushed her to the back burner and he was fine with that decision. More than fine.

I didn't even watch this show until they showed new episodes one summer while everyone else had reruns. I didn't like Brenda anyway. Kelly and Dylan were very romantic. I thought he was hot, and she was my favorite of the girls.

Dylan and Kelly were meant to be together. They found each other 3 times and always felt the love. Brenda and Dylan were "Puppy love". Yes, they were cute, but there was no REAL emotion there. Brand and Kelly were great together, but as kelly even says, "They were BEST FRIENDS". Dylan and Kelly had it all, Passion, love, jealousy, friendship....all the things real relationships have. Just my opinion....
I totally agree with you! I thought Dylan/Brenda were cute together but they had high school love. Their lives were taking each other in different directions. Kelly and Brandon were cute together but I felt like Kelly changed herself completely when she was with him. She wasn't the Kelly we fell in love with. Maybe she just matured I don't know. The FACT is that K/D wouldn't have been endgame if either Brandon or Brenda were there. The ending would be K/B or B/D. There's enough proof of that. The only reason Kelly and Brandon didn't get married was because Jason left and Jennie didn't. Nobody could ever picture DK getting married. It'd last about 5 minutes until one of their fights breaks them up again.
Wow people need to accept that not all of us thought Brenda and Dylan were great. I thought Kelly and Dylan had way more chemistry, and Brenda was boring, at least Kelly was a more complex character.

I'm sorry but Dylan and Kelly are the best!!! Dylan may have said it, but it doesn't mean it's true. Brenda was no longer on the show. My point was K/D is default because it's the 3rd option. If Brandon and/or Brenda were there, then the ending would be K/B and/or B/D NOT K/D. So if Brenda and Kelly were both there, it would be B/D. If Brandon and Dylan were both there it would be K/B.

Bottom line brendamcay and wooster in the end dylan ended going back to kelly because in his heart he knew that she was the right girl for because they always had a special connection with her the he never had with brenda the way he does with kelly, and he already tried to be with brenda in europe it lasted for a year and did'nt work out because his heart was with always with kelly, and she was the one he ended up with in the series finale, so that pretty much settles it people!!!

With Brenda, without Brenda the result would have been the same. Dylan loved Kelly. Period. He NEVER cheated on her. Thinking about it and acting on it are two very different things. But Dylan isn't a douche. He's a man. And he CHOSE. Yes, he was tired of all of her drama; that's why he CHOSE. And he didn't break up with Brenda because Kelly wouldn't let him. In the summer, he offered to do it more than once--at least 4 times--and she said he had to stay with Brenda. So he kept pulling away from her emotionally until she finally broke up with him in order to be guilt-free AND make Kelly happy. Yes, call it a KD excuse if you want, but that's how I see it.

He broke up w/Kelly because Suzanne had conned him. If he didn't want her, he wouldn't have gone back to her after they broke up the first time. He wasn't annoyed. He thought they wanted two different things, so he broke it off. He later confesses that his life started unraveling when he broke up with her. How can you refute that statement? There's no way to refute it. He says it was a mistake to break up with her. He needed her in order for his life to make sense. That's what he's telling her.

Look at the phone scene again. He moves the phone away from his mouth so that his entire body points at Kelly. He's staring right at her with "Brenda" or the phone away from him when he says "I love you." Kelly looks back at him. It's him telling KELLY that he loves her. When he tells Brenda AFTER Kelly leaves that they'll be ok & he loves her, this time he winces as he says it. Part of him really wants to stay w/Brenda because of what they had meant to each other, it's not meant to be.

If that were the case, there would have been an outrage when she left in S4 and there would have been an outrage when KD were endgame in S10. But there wasn't. A lot of people were satisfied with the ending. The show wouldn't have survived 6 seasons if the majority wasn't happy with the outcome.

That's not what he meant by "maybe." He knew who he wanted, but by her not being there, that allowed him to make the final decision. It wasn't that he might have chosen Brenda if she had been there. It allowed him to make his decision with conviction. And if Kelly was a maybe, that made Brenda a maybe too. There's no way to choose Brenda over Kelly as winning in that situation. He pushed her to the back burner and he was fine with that decision. More than fine.

I didn't even watch this show until they showed new episodes one summer while everyone else had reruns. I didn't like Brenda anyway. Kelly and Dylan were very romantic. I thought he was hot, and she was my favorite of the girls.

Dylan and Kelly were meant to be together. They found each other 3 times and always felt the love. Brenda and Dylan were "Puppy love". Yes, they were cute, but there was no REAL emotion there. Brand and Kelly were great together, but as kelly even says, "They were BEST FRIENDS". Dylan and Kelly had it all, Passion, love, jealousy, friendship....all the things real relationships have. Kelly and Brandon were cute together but I felt like Kelly changed herself completely when she was with him. She wasn't the Kelly we fell in love with. Maybe she just matured I don't know. No it's not the same thing. Kelly said she chooses Brandon over Dylan in S7. She didn't choose Dylan over Brandon in S10. She chose him over Matt. So K/B was never default. K/D was. There's enough proof from statements by Jennie, Jason, Luke, Darren Star, and Charles Rosin that K/B or B/D would've been endgame, not K/D. When Dylan chose Kelly in S3, he didn't say he wasn't in love with Brenda. But Kelly chose Brandon and said she wasn't in love with Dylan. So it's not the same thing. K/D was default. K/B wasn't.

The best articles on Wikipedia are sourced. Donna and David are listed as a supercouple on Wikipedia because they were named a supercouple by Entertainment Weekly. The source for that can be found on that Wikipedia list (References section). Dylan and Brenda should have a source to their names on that list soon.
