If you look at the tour and shows they did with this song, you'll hear from the very week it was released that "2 million" sold number. In fact, RIAA's board includes the biggest dog on the block, Sony. Who just happens to have had them under contract. Even solo female entertainers in competition with many others have outsold the DC's as a group. Shania Twain, for example, sold 2/3rds of the total sales of the DC's..... with one album. Immediately after, they re-released "Travelin' Soldier" that hadn't done so well. It went to #1. After her comment in London, the song fell off the charts in a week. Toby has released about 19 albums since 1993 which have sold to date about 25 million copies total, if you average his sales by albums he's sold about 1.3 million and change. The Chicks in comparison have released 8 albums and their per album sales are around 3.8 million and change per album so even though they've been a bit down lately they are still doing better than Keith overall. I can't wait to hear some more of your imaginary math from the R.I.A.A.

So Toby Keith, with no more than one co-writer on any song and most of them original works by him alone, has produced 19 albums worth of songs, performed them, recorded them, and because those 19 albums only average Platinum + status, you think he hasn't done well? LOL. He played to sellout crowds in the 17 cities the Dixie Chicks had to cancel due to poor sales on their last tour. Yeah, they are really kicking his ass. ROFL.
This song brings tears to my eyes, chills down my spine, and makes my hair stand up on my arms. It's inspiring, and the lyrics are true. It's an amazing song.

And they aren't "taking time off". They are getting ready for court. Even the sister who had originally planned on being at the Telluride Bluegrass festival cancelled this year. Natalie's last interview was when she killed her chances of using the fair reporting defense against their defamation lawsuit. It will be interesting to see if they try to pull some hollywood stunt involving the lawsuit. I hope they do. The Conservatives are looking for someone to tag, and Natalie will do just fine.

Here's some math for you. Toby has released about 19 albums since 1993 which have sold to date about 25 million copies total, if you average his sales by albums he's sold about 1.3 million and change. The Chicks in comparison have released 8 albums and their per album sales are around 3.8 million and change per album so even though they've been a bit down lately they are still doing better than Keith overall. I can't wait to hear some more of your imaginary math from the R.I.A.A.

You can buy all three of the newest DC Cds for under $25. Their latest album costs less on Amazon than any of TK's except his first in 1993. They haven't been "a bit down" lately. They've been off the charts. Moreover, they had virtually no competition as a female group in C&W. TK has 100s of competitor male singers to contend with.
