@ssabbassajja That's "Soto" on Volume 2 of "The Best of Aurlus Mabele" - also can be downloaded as an .mp3 from various websites. "Soto" is the name of a dance or dance move. The solo guitarist is Néné Tchakou (who lives in California now, but comes from the DRC) and the bass player is, of course, Ngouma Lokito. :)
It is the best music ever. Lokito is speaking the truth. All everyone wants to do is get a drumbeat machine and do live play backs. It takes real musicians and composers to come up with something as intrinsic and complex yet appealing and grandeur as this. Maybe that's the problem. People want easy quick and fast not necessarily the best.
So he's begging American people to come to rescue? What bullshit! And then he still expects me, a proud African, to respect him? There could be producers and promoters but the African people themselves do not support their own music and artists. Its a psychological problem! I've seen motherfuckers pay 90 dollars to see Britney Spears and T-Pain but would complain $30 is too expensive for Koffi Olomide or Lagbaja (inferiority complex at its highest).
Until the African people start to think highly of themselves and believe their music and continent is worth bragging about with no shame, our artists and our people would never get the support and respect they deserve. If ah di lie, make some man cam tell me!
U dey lie...lol! Just kiddin. But for real tho I dont think its Africans having a inferioity complex towards Americans about their music is the problem. Most of us Africans are proud of our music but like u mentioned b4 African ppl dont support their own. But thats b/c they are selfish period especially among most of the Congolese musicians and their fans. Ive noticed myself that a lot of their audience is very segregated and biased against certain musicians and the style of music.
Most of the Congolese promoters or producers sometimes dont take their musicians seriously. So its even hard for a Congolese musician let alone an African(even tho in some cases its not true) to find their own country man promoter that will actually help them out and recognize their talent instead using them for own selfish gain( in most cases fame and money). I think that is the issue that Ngouma and some others are facing
SO true there bro!! well done.. This is what is killing our music and Our continant in general... Our very own people dont support us How the hell do you want somebody else to do so??? even in the media, we recently returned from DRC promoting my latest album, I tell you, all day long they broadcast American and Europeans Shit music even with bear nacked women on the vids and the royalties goes to USA. I had to pay money to have my videos broadcasted bro!!! Shame shame shame...

He also says that African artist who have made it big do not allow room for other artist to grow. They suppress the ones who show up for tutelage
