Russia is not hundreds of miles away from Alaska, being so close to Russia there are bound to be issues between fishing right, oil exploration, we have a large portion of our ballistic missile defenses in Alaska, there's concerns over freedom of navigation, polar exploitation etc. So being the Governer she would have knowledge and concerns about Russia. @keereekee - Exactly. No one on Fox ever mentions the right wing slant on talk radio, or all the conservative newspapers that used to be around. Plus, Brokaw, Couric, Lauer, etc. are all quite moderate, even if they are somewhat liberal. you can still get facts from them about the news, whereas Fox is so out there on the far right they talk about death panels and socialism and the ground zero islamic center being a terrorist center, just complete bogus stuff.

Maybe there is a liberal bias in the mainstream news but the bias is in the content and who they interview. Fox not only goes for the jugular of any liberal personality they interview but they grossly distort the facts, and in many cases reside in the camp of the conspiracy theorists and the lunatic fringe. Yes, they truly do talk down to their audience. There are very intelligent conservatives out there like George Will and Tony Blankley, plus a few others, but they never go on Fox. George Will has been on ABC on Sundays for years because he knows that roundtable has an intelligent debate without making up stuff and creating fear. He knows he is respected there. Fox is based on entertainment, emotion, and "shock" moments, so it gets attention. Whereas CNN reports facts, but is very boring.
