I don't think that's what it is. What people want back is her magic, her style. Songs like beautiful day, creationist, mission, and all the way aren't "depths of despair" songs but they still have the same magic as this or fragile. When people say they want the old kerli they don't mean they want her to be hurting, they just don't want her to be pop. Kerli puts as much of her magic into pop as she can, but it just doesn't fit right. Pop isn't supposed to be meaningful so it doesn't work right.

I agree; it's really depressing but there's two ways to look at it. The emotion could be because of non-believing friends/relatives who didn't think she'd amount to much so she had to leave them behind. It could also be an expression of frustration and need to be free from a romantic relationship that wasn't working out. Everyone's had one or both of these experiences, I think. The last part sounds like a game of "patty-cake", maybe in Estonian?
