It is spelled Mandelbrot. I'm looking at it right now in the book "Chaos: Making a New Science" by James Gleick. And the video is pretty cool, except the random "Wow"s "Pop"s and "Bang"s popping up kind of get in the way.
It's okay. The switches between shots were a bit excessive, but oh well. Also, I think it's spelled "Mandelbrot". That's how it's spelled on Wikipedia. But Benoit Mandelbrot wasn't English, so it could be Mendelbrot too.
Very excellent video of course 5*s for sure. But in my opinion nature can only be imitated through art and the use of it's own mathematical devices. "It simply is", has no agenda and as soon observed becomes something else...Constantly:)
Nice one! I don't have the computer savy to be able to program fractals or a mandelbrot set but wow, I have lost track of time going deeper and deeper into countless Msets and fractals!!! Wonderful to see this...it's almost like a tease...cause now I want more! lol Thanks!
A nice little educational romp through the mind, nice to have some exercize every once in a while :) I'll have to look into Mendelbrot and see what's up over there.
series is restricted to letters of RANDOM - Phase Space Analysis - Partial Differential Equations - Two-dimensional phase-space analysis- bifurcation study -- dynamical behaviour of a semiconductor laser - planar channeled protons - complex optical systems - not an R A N D O or M lurking anywhere!
Of course I could do Recurrence Analysis on the National Lottery but that would not only show that some balls are biased - not the numbered labels on them - but would decrease my tax free income
Nice music with it! Thanks to the "fractal understanding" teacher of this video...My son tried - I am afraid it is hopeless with me... but: I enjoy the patterns immensely! 5*
that's really cool :)

Nice. You should do one on phase space analysis. That makes some pretty interesting patterns as well.

Phases space analysis is random if you do it on a random function.
