I absolutely love her voice! No one will have such a voice as she did!! It's too bad of what happened on that fateful day of June in '69. We will all miss and love her forever!!
No, She died at 47 on June 22, 1969... today she would be 87! And what happened to her happened, and there is sadly nothing that we can do about it, but it is a shame.
I don't consider her vocal condition in 1969 a demise, because she still had "it." It's just so sad to see pictures of her from that year. You know those pictures of before and after meth, where you can't tell how old the people are, because they all look elderly? Yeah...poor Judy.... :-(

God I don't think I could bear to hear the other 69 version then, because this is painful, she incapable of holding any sustained notes, the vibrato as it once was is totally gone.
Always love and respected Judy's talent but I'm afraid your assessment is correct. Yet, there still is charisma and a measurable amount of energy and sparkle in her presentation -- while there is something very uncomfortable in observing her at this point. She was ill at this point in her life and it was now palpable -- with all due respect.
I had read from a few sources this Sunday-Palladium (also called the Tom Jones Show) was a horrible disaster, but I am pleasantly surprised! Judy did, in her last half-year, sometimes give the impression she was ready to bounce back.

This is probably the last recorded version of "Get Happy" she ever did...even toward the end, she still had so much heart in what she did.

Nope, a recording exists that was made March 25, 1969. It's not bad. But this is better.
