The new setup was going to be bigger fuel system, 80mm gt4508r turbo, nos, and more seat time. I have recently sold the car with trans, minus the engine setup to the owner of signal racing and big cola drift team in bangkok thailand. He is the drag racer for goodyear, ptt and brangers performance motors. Apaspong Premanond or mr. o to everyone
This is my car, this was when it was a single turbo, 2.5 liter inline 6, 1jzgte. It has been changed and swapped several times since this video. It is ranked #4 in the world for fastest stock frame/suspension lexus with just a test pass and blowing an intercooler pipe off. Ran a 9.40 at 147.9mph last year on a smaller setup single 76mm 2jzgte 3.0.
@punchmaster123 the sc300 is muchbetter, if u can find a sc300 standard for cheap get it, it like buying a cheaper supra since they share the same engine, trow a turbo in it and ur good to go, it's also faster than the sc400, the sc300 is better than the sc400 in all aspects, weight and acceleration, it's lighter and better throtlle response, get the sc300.......
it was a 1jz single turbo 5 speed, now it is a 2jzgte built, aem ems, all the trimmings, 76mm gt4276, 4 in exhaust, air/water cooler, caged, drag slicks, well, like i said all the trimmings, i spun a rod bearing running the 1/4 and need a new crank so it is down for the winter. the car also has a 2 speed chevy powerglide, transbrake, 7200 stall convertor and 150 shot nos. it is putting right at 1000hp to the wheels. i am looking to build something else so its for sale. just pm me
this is my car, search armyastro and see the upgraded videos, i got rid of the 1jz single 5 speed setup and now have a 2jzgte 76mm single with built motor, fully built bradco chevy powerglide, transbrake, bradco convertor, supra tt rear diff, roll cage ect, last year with stock 2jzgte and 70mm turbo had 760hp with no nitrous, it had a 170 shot and was through a powerglide and a 6700 stall convertor, thats about 1100hp at the crank, this year will be 1000hp at the wheels no nos, tune is friday
i want one of these sooo badly...okay so there is this lexus sc400 1992 for sale. it has 196k miles on it and the person says there is somethin wrong with the alternator and its not charging. He is asking for 900$ what do you guys think? should i buy it??
@jkhan08 it has a good v8 but not the after market support of the 2jz.. however it might not be too hard for a swap i don't know.. check some forums out for a bit on that
thanks for the comment, car was 1jz there and it is a crazy 2jz now, put down 1130hp at the crank and 760hp no nos at the wheels through a chevy powerglide
well heres the problem, no one has really bothered to make turbo kits nor performance parts for the 400 idk why, the 300 has the supra engine 2jz so those parts are everywere, if you have money go with the 400, if your on a budget get a 300, the 400 has more potential but like i said parts are available but a bit more expensive compared to the 2jz parts, and if your going turbo like me you have to custom fab the tubing, and you need a custom adapter for a manual tranny, good luck hope this helped
SC300 runs on less fuel (last I checked) and is easier to get parts for. Also, they don't have 2JZ's in 'em. They're stock TT is a 1JZ. There's also the 3.0Litre Non-Turbo SC300 but noone really uses or pays for that.
yer, i thought he said twin turbo. then i noticed he hadn't. i know that the 97 and later model lexus came with the 2jz. still, i have to say, i prefer a 1jz tt. although, the 2jz wouldn't be bad for drags.
i have the same wheels I'm special only mines are gold and polished and I'm missing that wonderful(Gas sucking)Turbo. I wanted to do a single but I have an FC3s and that guy eats gas like CRAZY!
Hey Dude got a twin with 2.5 inch pipes and a HKS turbo boost being fitted but I really like those rims - u know what they are - nice deep dish on the back... cheers
im not sure from my understanding in the US SC300 was the 2JZ (ie 3.0L) and the SC400 was the 1UZ (4.0L) V8 and the 1JZ soarer was japan only...i could be wrong tho im not sure
No you got everything right topgun just the only problem is that a US spec sc300 come with a 2jz-ge which is non turbo and not as strong and reinforced as a 2jz-gte which came twin turbo(hench the t in gte which stands for turbo) from factory and its what most supras usually have in it...now the soarer engine is a -gte as well which is also twin turbo, it's an awesome engine too but just not as potent and sick as the 2jz
The biggest thing holding back the 2jz-ge is the compression and injectors. You should be able to net 500+hp at the crank with nice injectors (550cc+) and a thicker head gasket (to lower compression). Check out suprastore, they have a cheap kit, I just finished mine. Yet to dyno though...
No... The 2jz-ge has the same block, rods, pistons, everything. It doesn't have the oil squirters for cooling though. Just so you know, Mike H's NA-T sc300 has already hit 900+rwhp...
um, what are you talking about? The 2JZ came in both Supras and SC300s. The Supra turbo has/had the 2JZGTE, the NA Supras and SC300s both have/had the 2JZGE (non-turbo version). 2JZ is the engine code, not the chassis code
Actually the 2JZ-GE and its turbo brother the 2JZ-GTE have the exact same block, forged crank, and forged rods.......the pistons are only half a compression point from each other, and the thicker headgasket on the gte makes up the rest of the compression difference between the two....The gte's do have piston cooling oil squirters where the ge's do not...
No, the Sc300 got the 2jz in 1992. Check it out ;). It even says so on wikipedia, lol... I've heard the 2jz was first used on the sc300 for production cost reasons. It's ussually cheaper to mass produce something than build for one model car... In fact, the toyota aristo got the 2jz-gte before the supra...

Question, is it better to get the sc300 or 400, because I have only seen 300s that really run. Ive seen a 300 in the 9s and a 400 at like 13.
Gmanx4536 3 years ago
well heres the problem, no one has really bothered to make turbo kits nor performance parts for the 400 idk why, the 300 has the supra engine 2jz so those parts are everywere, if you have money go with the 400, if your on a budget get a 300, the 400 has more potential but like i said parts are available but a bit more expensive compared to the 2jz parts, and if your going turbo like me you have to custom fab the tubing, and you need a custom adapter for a manual tranny, good luck hope this helped

you're wrong sir.
the sc300's came with 2jz-ge's stock.
the non-turbo'd 2jzs.
1jz twin turbos are mkIII supras
2jz twin turbos are mkIV supras

Legothunder 3 years ago
yeah man the 1jz never came in the sc's stock though.
and 2jz-gte's are better known for drags than the 1jz-gte.
given, I'd take a 1jz-gte over a 2jz-ge, but 2jz-gte's CANNOT be beaten by 1jzs. period

Yeah I know what the Supra has, I have 2. The Supra also had the 2jzge as option.
But yeah, I know the guy who owns this car. The dyno of this car took place at a Supra meet that I put together.
So yeah, he pulled a 1jz-gte and single turbo R154 swap.
