  • What?

  • WWII? On an F1 interview..? WHAT IS THIS?!

  • Hekki and Kimi The only ones Finnish that makes Hamilton the Odd ones out lol

  • @Zscheesus yeah lol. btw finland is automatically awesome cuz of the kimster

  • I love how everybody refers to us as "you Americans" lol

  • @nascarmario23

Don't take it too personally.I hate stereotyping.I know couple of americans and they're way smarter than me.I'm a finn and finns are supposed to be laconic and living in iglues. You're right, stereotypes are BS.

  • @blagrd what do mean "all you Americans?" don't stereotype, idiot

  • hamilton speak soomething with hekki and moves your microphone to kimi...

Now, you hear kimi speaks something...

  • well heikki does speak fairly fast tbh :P

  • VITTU KIMIL ON PASKA SUOMEN KIELI

  • @thegamerzify sul on paskempi

  • @TheBazooka120 .........NAAAT

  • Finnish is so weird...although Finn's probably think English is weird too...

  • and alll they said was.. it was a good race a bit tricky in parts but all in all not a bad day..

  • I fully agree with them

  • heikki looks just like garth from waynes world

  • Lewis to Heikki: "What did you say?"

  • @voaridase I was thinking the exact same thing. :)

  • Does Heikki really sound like he's speaking fast to non-Finns? Because he's speaking at a pretty calm pace really.

  • @Kazumaster

It's common for people who do not understand a language to perceive those speaking the language natively as talking very quickly. They're simply hearing "noises" without absolutely ZERO comprehension outside of cadence and pauses. Removing comprehension has the effect of making things sound 'quicker'.

  • @opmike343 Yeah, I guess that'd make sense. And Heikki speaking in a fairly monotone manner here probably doesn't help, either.

  • Heiki: jonkoblonkhindalalalalaitelallalallaiesutliantalpapapallalalaalaintililialalalialoironkolalallal

    Reporter: now Kimi in Finnish

    :D

  • @Senj1n ok well see , there is no town whose name is pralalalalacidaribrokkolilululupilipokonen in finland , i checked on google earth ! :D

  • @Senj1n and you said really bad word "pili" it means wiener :D

  • Im Finnish and I really have to concentrate on what's Kimi saying :D

  • @Monzderi is it cause he's monotone? or something else?

  • @Monzderi Mikä somali sä olet?

  • translation kimi: yea, i had a good race, it was getting boring at some point and i had wished to drink some vodka during the race instead of energy drink, but it's all ok since i am planning to get the fuck out of here and get wasted, maybe rape a hooker or event more, depending of the mood i am after drinking. thank you, see you fuckers the next race and get out of my way.

  • Kimi the matafucking sönkkö!

  • In speaking finnish..kimi is a slower version of heikki .. only in ..speaking

  • on se jännä

  • onks oikea että tuntuu että kimi on vähä tyhmä mutta kyllä en tiedä koska en vielä oikeesti ymmärrä mitä ne sanovat (olen vielä oppimassa! :D). he does seem a little.. uh whats the word.. "dull"??

  • @Skelros No, he is not dull but he doesn't like so much about interviews and other too official shit. Totally different person when he is doing something he really likes to do.

  • @wetuir

    ah i see okay

  • Kimi älä mussuta! :D

  • Suomi on paras kieli!

  • where's the rasmus?

  • I reckon Lewis leaned over to Heikki and said "If you drove as fast as you just spoke, you could've won"

  • @MoNercy he doesn't even speak that fast (im finnish) :)

  • COOL GUYS!!! ÄIJJÄÄÄÄ!!

  • mitä vittua Kimi sanoo?!

  • Fioi, no se capisse veramente un casso!

  • Kim the Iceman Heikki the Fireman

  • reactions: cute 1 ->

    What?

  • I'm not sure but I have a feeling that Finnish language has much more colloquial aspects than in many more languages (english, german, russian, swedish, frenc, spanish etc). That's why Finnish is very hard to learn in school or courses.

  • heikki voittaa vielä joskus

  • @Eppusport1 Sä taidat melkonen f1-tietopaketti olla, Kovalainenhan on voittanut jo vuonna 2008 Unkarin GP:n että joops... Ihan miten tykkäät.

  • @VirtsuT Et usko kuinka paljon oikeasti tiedän :D Aion ruveta joskus urheilutoimittakjaksi. oon vasta 15 v. Oon tehny melkein koko artikkelin Kovalaisesta Wikipediaan, nimellä Miikasport :D Kartingia myös ajelen

  • @Eppusport1 no ainakin yhtä ylioptimistinen olet kuin nykyisetkin urheilutoimittajat, joten uravalinta ei oo huonoin mahdollinen...hah heikki voittaa viel joskus, ei saatana...

  • I know the true talent with these guys is obviously the ability to drive an F1 car. But it amazes me how many languages some of these guys know, and so well too!!

  • @MrBennyBoy04 Although generally in Europe, everyone knows at least two languages, because everyone learns at least conversational English. Learning English is very important to their training because they are brought up racing AND introduced to marketing so early it's almost as important as learning to shift properly.

You can't be a pro without the social skills to match, usually.

  • Kovalainen tiene razon, fue realmente asi...

  • 0.48 Hamilton: "WTF were you saying about me?"

  • kipilakankateraminikusatkarepktalikantorkeSAFETYCARkalakatakisantrekilokunakseraka

  • "meijän tiimille unohettii kertoa"

  • It seems they are speaking backwards!

  • why they didn't spin a leek? it would be funnier! :D

  • kimi; blar blar mina mana mona safety car

  • Räikköstä selkeesti vitutti.

  • only a bit over 5 million people speaks this language,.. only!! ,.. and i can tell it's not an easy language. this was slower speed than ppl usualy talks.

i'm finn and i gotta remind sometimes myself about a grammar and how to bend the words.

  • @WeLWets who spoke faster? it seemed to be heikki :-) i love this language :-D

  • @hotknight2000

Heikki is a bit faster : D at least on a press conference, but also it sounds faster becouse his accent is "harder" while Kimi has more calm and cooler way. Heikki has this brightness and hardness and Kimi is speaking more like "normal" finnish way with gaps and pauses. ( okay i can understand i sounds fast anyway if i try to listen it as a foreigner) . : DD

  • @WeLWets does german sound fast? :-D everybody says that german sounds fast but i cannot hear that :-D

  • @hotknight2000

i have few german friends but i dunno,. it sounds more like energetic or intense depending how you speak or press it.

maybe i have heard it pretty much so i can't perceive it too fast.

german f1-drivers ( yeah there's few of them nowadayz lol ) doesn't sound fast to me.

  • Jäätävää settiä :D

  • sì sì, ha ragione Heikki!!!!

  • Man, I bet Finnish is so fucking difficult to learn.

  • @NottinghamForest22

    its easier than estonian xD

  • @rastamees and easier than Latvian! (and russian)

  • @fricis11

I've heard that Finish is the second hardest laguage to learn just after Mandarin :O

Yet I don't think you can actually "rate" how hard a language is or can you?

  • @66Morti66 You can definitely rate how hard a language is. Finnish is definitely one of the hardest European languages to learn because it doesn't come from the same language groups as English, French, German, Russian and basically any other european language.

Mutta mä rakastan Suomi(But I love Finland)

  • @randomaussielogic Well, there are other fenno-ugrian languages in Europe than Finnish, such as hungarian, estonian, latvian and lithuanian language :-)

  • @mwh35 Latvian and Lithuanian are Balto-Slavic, i.e. Indoeuropean languages.

  • @66Morti66 I guess they "rate" it according to pronunciation and maybe the way they build sentences. I speak both Finnish and Swedish, and in Finnish a simple sentence can be only 2 words with prepositions molded into the verb while Swedish is much like English, having separate words for the prepositions. Just an example...

  • @NottinghamForest22 Coming from English, it can seem impossible.

I was born and raised there and I hardly speak it now and I struggle terribly going back and trying to speak correctly with people. It's not something you can learn and put on the back burner. It's very, very difficult to stay on top of if you're not speaking it as your main language.

  • no tietenkin olis voinu paremmin mennä sanoi Kimi

  • hyvä Heikki Kovalainen

  • don`t understand any word . ;)

  • @mollllto Watch Kubica speak in Polish

  • estoy de acuerdo

  • I've always wanted to know what it is they drink during those press conferences.

  • KIMI IS DRUNK!!!!!!WHYAT DID HE DRUNK?

  • i think at heikki win some time world champion but that's it

  • when a finn guy finish the race...they always become finish

  • @elitesquadron very stupid joke xD

  • @elitesquadron WHAT?

  • @elitesquadron omg dude your so funny I wish my children grow up to me like you...

  • when a fin guy finish the race.....they always be finish .....

  • Do they have dialects in Finland?

  • @DnylF1 yes we do! these guys don't speak very dialectical language, but there are dialects for sure. the differences between them were more prominent hundred (say, fifty) years ago, when people didn't move so much around, nowadays they have been mixed a little.. the biggest distinction is between west and east, and the formal language is very young (as finnish was written for the first time in the 16th century afaik) and the formal language has evolved into its current form about 150 years ago

  • @DnylF1 yes!!!

  • even thought i'm from Finland, i always have to focus on what Kimi is saying. if i don't, i really can't understand what he is saying :D

  • finnish sounds almost like asian language like maybe thai or japanese or phillipino or something

  • yep i complete agree heikki

  • perus zombie

  • Kimi has the coolest voice in Formula 1 :D

  • finnish dounds italian??????

  • @DamianTheFarmer Not even close.

  • Hahahahaha!!!

Poor Lewis. He just had to laugh!!! :))))

  • I love Kimi's voice : D. It just makes me laugh ^^.

  • O.O

  • Kaikki suomalaiset tykkää tästä!

  • @SmallForward22 Vaa 56 suomalaista kattonu :/

  • Kimi is Iceman, Heikki is Niceman

  • @masameisseli now he is niceman and the fireman of the lotus.

  • Just got a funny thought. What if Kimi had lost the championship for 1point. Finnish people would've been mad ass hell for him not letting him pass him <.<

  • Kimi still sounding like he wants to be somewhere else.

still my second favourite f1 driver though. even though he couldn't be bothered most of the time.

  • xD Finnish is so lmaaaaaaoooooo

  • WTF

  • Finnish Kimi is still Kimi - LOL.

  • i think safety car is finnish for safety car.

  • @ICanCount2G xD are you sure:D

  • it sounds they are repeating the same thing like a million times. tho it's a beautiful repetition.

  • @lusik2 well if you mean that "että, tota" it's like *umm* but in words:D

  • @h4rtsa HAHAHA, no, it's not only that. it's every word they say sounds exactly the same to me :P

  • meidän tiimille ja mmm jja ömmmm ja

  • Finnish is abeautifull language! hungarian and Finnish language are relatives! Finnish people are like our brothers ! U can see how many finnish fans are in hungaroring! Go KImi go Heikki!

  • The Swedes here are actually proud of...well, let's be honest, enslaving the Finns? Also the swedes forbade speaking Finnish in schools etc for a very long time.

Now don't take me wrong, the Swedes of nowadays are mostly nice ppl.

I don't expect the majority of the Swedes to agree with these comments made here about the Finns, but for those who do... Just praise your luck you had Finland between you and the Soviets when you wanted to stay out of the war.

    Some ppl are truely lucky.

  • @Missra81 enslaved? please, that is one of the dummedt things i have ver heard (seen). Before the late 16th century there were no finns, they were just swedes that spoke odd swedish. The language didint even develeop before the 17th century. How do i know this? Im a finnis history teacher. Joten suksi kuseen tietämätön moukka

  • @JauserJubJub

You are not a very good teacher then. The finnish language is assumed to have developed by the modern scientests, around 1000 BCE the LATEST. I believe you are thinking of Mikael Agricola, who lived in the 17th century. He was the first one to write the language down. Did you think he wrote down a nonexistant language? Made it all up by himself?

Suksi itte kuuseen, moukka, ja opettele historias.

  • @JauserJubJub

Oh, and the Swedish language has ZERO to do with the Finnish language. Those are not even closely related in the language tree. Honestly, if you are teaching what you said to our children, I'm very worried about the education level of our children.

And to explain you some basics of our linguistic history... sorry for the Finnish: Suomen kieli kuuluu Ugrilaiseen kieliryhmään kun taas ruotsi Pohjoisgermaanisiin. Aika kauas taakse saa mennä ennen kun nuo ryhmät ovat eriytyneet.

  • im spanish but RESPECT for the finnish language !! shit man it sounds really difficult

  • @elchito86 You saying that Spanish is hard? Go die in a hole.

  • How disrespectful

  • martian

  • I didn't understand one word, but it sounded pretty cool. I know 4 languages so far, maybe I will try to learn this one next - but it looks like a difficult proposition.

  • but heikki accent is very nice :)

  • Kimi you have to come back to F1

  • @zjawa90 ha he is nascar. what a waste of talenT?

  • now, now, I thought Sweden and Finland were neutral countries - you are making us worry about our electronic bank accounts. We can't have war, so cool down.

  • Without the british fighting spirit you'd all be messaging in german. So if you talk about world wars simply say respect to GB it's because of those men and women that you can freely talk in your own languages to argue about things as pointless as this. Untill the next american president slips on the red button anyways thats not are bad though.

  • @SStuubi Try reading a history book at some point and not one made in the US, yes it certainly was a factor but it wasn't the be all and end all as you American's like to think it was.

  • @SStuubi Try reading a history book at some point and not one made in the US, yes it certainly was a factor but it wasn't the be all and end all as you American's like to think it was.

  • @SStuubi Don't know why your saying this on a F1 video but fine. No the UK wouldn't be a German speaking nation without the USA as you claim . Hitler abandoned Operation Sea Lion (invasion of UK) after the Battle of Britain which was 18 months before the USA got involved.

  • @SStuubi You Americans would most likely not even exist without the British. Unless your family has a native american heritage, of course. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @iFinlander just. amerikkalaiset o vitun tyhmä.

  • @SStuubi 'Fraid not, it was the RAF and RN that made the difference. It was without Britain that the USA would be speaking German. It was the BRITISH who were outproducing the Germans in ships, subs and planes that got the war in the West won in favour of the allies. Have a look at how many ships, tanks and planes GB built. Tens upon tens of thousands. Are you forgotten they had founded modern industry in the first place?

  • this finland vs sweden debate is pointless because there is only one answer. Finnish people are tougher, more intelligent and just all the way BETTER than swedish people. Only thing sweden produces is cocky people and good looking women. That's it. Now STFU strittan

  • sounds like a russian speaking italian

  • Wonder if they know some swedish? Many finns do however.

  • They have to study Swedish in school (Finland is a 2 language-country), so maybe they know a few words.

  • Well, they do, few.

Ppl like me (lots of us) wants to only learn this:

"Jag tycker inte om prata i svenska"

    Figure it out.

  • I don't blame you. Funny that the national anthem of Finland was originally written in swedish though.

And I find it pretty strange that the island of Åland belongs to Finland, as they only speak swedish there. ;D

  • Its funny though, how people allways brings out that when finland was under swedish command.

Well, lets keep it that way: You WERE big country, you WERE powerful country. 1939, what did you do? Nothing, didint even let 10 dozen french soldiers come trought your country to help finland.

Yes, i know. You feel little assraped right now, its normal, i dont blame you. But anyways, finns aint happy that we HAVE TO study swedish language in school. In few years it will stop, believe me.

  • Hahaha, I just love angry finns. There is just nothing more hilarious.

I don't feel one bit assraped. I'm very proud of living in a country which has been in peace for more than 200 years. I don't think there is anything cool about war, but I guess you do. Finland is just like US, with school-masacres and stuff like that.

To be honest, I don't see why Finland is part of Scandinavia in the first place. =)

  • You haven't had a war for 200 years because you're cowards. I lived in Sweden, and I know. Nobody has the balls to take a strong opinion on anything in the land of lagom. Where would Sweden be if Finland went the way of Estonia in 1939? The only Sweden was able to stay out of that war was because they had a buffer. The Germans would have pulverised Sweden to get to the iron ore, and when the Russians came, Sweden would have been one big battlefield. Jävla yngkryggar!

  • We dont feel that we are part of your coward gay-ass community.

We dont LIKE war, we had to fight. Seems like you dont know shit about history? Take history-book in your beatiful hand and start reading. USSR attacked us, without any good reason. In fact we saved your fucking asses, so its time to show some fucking rispect.

  • Hahaha, this is getting more and more hilarious...

We may be cowards, but some times it's smart to be one in my opinion. I'm very glad we managed to stay out of trouble in both world wars and the cold war.

Since it seems you know everything, you may as well have a good explaination why there are over half a million finnish immigrants in Sweden.

  • Children and woman had to go somewhere during WWII. Are you dumb or something?

"we managed to stay out".. well just lucky you, without us Sweden were big battlefield in WWII.

I say this AGAIN! Time to show some fucking rispect.

  • Haha, wrong...

I know a lot of people born in Finland who lives here, and they were not even born during the WW2. They could go back to Finland any day if they wanted to, but they dont...

  • Also funny how you mentioned "gay" before, because the most fameous finn in Sweden is the most gay man you could possibly find. Mark Levengood.

  • Ofcourse hes gay because he lives in Sweden?

Tell me even ONE gay celebrity who lives in finland (:

    yeah, theres non.

  • Haha, how old are you? You can't be older tha... lets say, 12?

Let's end this crap. Idiots like us discussing weather or not the other country is gay is just sad isn't it?

You hate Sweden and I'm ok with that.

I don't hate Finland, but kids like you almost makes me.

I love my "coward, gay-ass" Sweden and you love your winter war, school masacre Finland. End of discussion

  • Finland had to protect itself against Soviet Union, we had no choice. And maybe, just maybe, that's why you've had those 200 years of peace?Think about it.

The whole discussion you've had is pointless, I'm sorry to say that. You've just agitated each other and left the facts behind. So find out first and then start yelling at each other...ok?

Och jag vet vad jag talar om.

  • Agreed... Some times it's just funny to have these pointless youtube fights.

I have to say I envy the finns one thing though, and that's how many great motorsport profiles you have and have had over the years. Way to go on that occasion!

  • And you have some great ice hockey players and athletes, so we are even there :D

    ....and beautiful women!Almost forgot.

  • @strittan and he happens to be "finlandssvenska".. gj dude

  • @strittan can i just note to this entire debate..I DONT CARE LOL...ur on a utube comment list not a fuckin political debate *yawn!*

  • lol you're just trying to make us angry :S

  • And about the Åland.. nah, we dont care about that piece of shit island, feel free to take it to yourself. Its like if Russians says that "Karelia belongs to us!" if you say Åland is fully Finnish.

  • sooo funny :D:D xDDDDDD
