Surrounded by nature (beaches and parks)...2nd best universities in Canada and 35th best in the world...City of Vancouver, rank 4th best quality of living in North America and 6th best in the world...so...why not?..Just so you know... I agree with Creebe... You forgot the CSIS and Engineering faculties :)
Most faculties have some sick buildings. Alot of buildings have really cool nooks and crannies to study in. Also the upper floor of the SUB has this really cool fountain/garden plaza. Its sick.
@peaceinthemiddleast1 haha psyc here is okay but mcgills top for psyc in canada. econ and our language programs are probably are top subjects here at ubc
haha your reactions are priceless. Really?! I wouldnt have a class? I doubt that. Second of all, you ppl are taking my comment to the worst degree possible.
To the boundary comment, what does that have to do with UBC?. Its only UBC I have a problem with.
I would bet any day of the week that I am more well rounded and social then 95% of the people my classes. Just because im not afraid to voice my opinion doesnt make me ur definition of "antisocial"

First of I go to UBC, before I make these comments.
Yes we are surrounded by nature, but it rains 6 months of the school year. I noticed all the filming was in the sun. Ive lived in Vancouver my whole life, and I would recommend other schools, unless you are in science. The rest of the faculties are a write off. As for international students..this might come out harsh, but theres soooooo many:(
Pretty much what it sounds like. My science classes are full of anti-social people who cant speak english. Pretty crappy classroom setting if you ask me. That goes for many of the other faculties as for as I know
If you were in a foreign country and couldn't speak the language very well, there's a good chance that you wouldn't be Mr. Personality either. You sure this doesn't have something to do with their race? If they were all European would you mind?
do you even know how much money they pay to be in the school? its not really about the class setting...actually, without them you might not even HAVE a class.
way to go showing off your school pride guys. really going full out trying to outdo each other...
and honestly crosse69: wtf do you mean 'this might come out harsh"??? it's either true or it isn't but you just came off as a racist asshole while saying it. you must feel sick to your stomach just living in vancouver.
1. How have you lived in van your whole life and not gotten used to the rain? I went and visited a friend at Olds College (Alberta) in November. I've never been so cold in my goddamn life. I'll take being soggy the rest of my life than ever having my nostril hairs freeze again.
2. Unless you are in science, I recommend saving the money you'd waste on university and get a job. Although... I guess our tuition would be a lot higher without all the artsies' tuition.
you've lived in one place your whole life, and im pretty sure you will for the rest of your life too with a mindset like that. people like you never get out of their boundaries.
how many universities do i know surrounded by nature? ...Only a few. I go to univ. of West Florida, we're located on a 1642 acre nature preserve. Both ocean, river, and woodland spanning from the campus. ...With that said. UBC looks great. anyone know about their med school?
The University did not make nor fund the video, a student created the film. I thought the video summed up all the different aspects of UBC in just over a minute. Nice video...UBC looks like an excellent place to live and go to school!
this is a shitty video for such a big university. they should have shown the greek village, src, storm the wall, bran new ice rinks and the huge gage towers... this video sucks!

Hmm, I got a few questions, best University in Canada? Where'd you hear that? From what survey? What cohort of people were interviewed? How is "best" measured? Government funded so it's the best? How is it the best?

Hello everyone!
I'm a student in the united states with a gpa of about 4.8~(on a 5 point scale based on AP courses)
I will shortly be receiving my IB diploma, with atleast a 6 on all my exams, and i have a total of (5) 4 or higher AP exam scores in multiple courses.
I'm an eagle scout and an all state cellist.
