And to top it all off, everyone I know asks why I would want to move to the big city because it's so 'frightening' 'vast' and 'threatening'. But they just don't get it, so many memories there. I feel like I can achieve my hopes and dreams there. It's like a high whenever I'm there. All my friends down here are trying so hard to convince me not to go but I'm just so damn HAPPY there. No other city has made me feel that way. Chicago is one in a trillion. It's my home in every sense of the word.

I'm moving to the city of Chicago in less than a week for school and god this song makes me miss it so much still. We moved to a tinier town down in central IL that's a little more than two hours away, but I grew up there. I have friends their, family, places i love, my first true boyfriend and so much more.

i saw my favorite highway two days ago in pittsburgh, and they explained the story behind it:

david, the lead singer, lived here for a few years and went to college here. he wrote this song about the city, and they only perform it when they're in pittsburgh:)

@egaskarthx Lies. Haha. They have performed Steel City at every show that I have been to, and I have never been to one in Pittsburgh. I've only gone to shows at the Jammin' Java, which is where they first started out, so maybe that's an exception or something cause it's in their home town. But they don't just play it in Pittsburgh. Although, I think that would have been an amazing idea in order to give the song more meaning. Love the Burgh, though. =]
