Life goes on for the people not affected, and their own personal pursuit of material things is all that matters to them. I've even heard people say "let them take care of themselves" upon hearing that the US was rendering aid. It's scary how inconsiderate and hateful people are.
If there were more people like pianoYN out there the world would be a better place.
