Yeah, the A380 is a magnificent aircraft yet it will never be as important to commercial aviation nor as revolutionary as the 747. Airbus tried with the A380 what Boeing had already accomplished 40+ years ago.

I want to like the A380 more... I'm not going to lie...But there is something about the Boeing 747..I just dunno I can't stop LOVING it. It's sad to see it run over by the A380, only 1 order was placed for a 747 in all of 2010.. ONLY ONE! Boeing needs to really put up their A game if they want the B747 to prosper.

hahaha, i remember a few years back watching a Singapore airlines 747 taking off from Auckland International in NZ and the pilot had an unco attack and pulled the aircraft up too steeply and its rear end smashed into the tarmac on take off, they did a fly around and had to land back again, Lucky SIA and Air new Zealand are part of the star alliance so the aircraft could be checked out at ANZ's maintenance base before it was allowed to continue

Imo, the 747 is the most beautiful plane ever built. The new Intercontinental model will be bigger than ever; it will surpass all other airliners in length(251 feet).

@wandereruk44 i agree with you with the 747 being graceful and i'll always love that jet but i think the A380 was simply built for the simple purpose of large quantity long haul travel which could make the difference in these economic times if an airline is looking for such a function.

Good question! The A380 looks pretty masculine IMO, but it is not nearly as perfect as the 747.
