Ah, memories. I was 8 years old when the New Mickey Mouse Club debuted in 1977. The problem was that the local tv station aired it on the weekdays around 2pm in the afternoon and school didnt let out until 3pm. So the only way I could see an episode here and there was if I was sick, on vacation, or cut out of school early. I think the ratings would have improved if they only aired it at a better time when we kids could see it. And I had the MADDEST crush on Kelly!!! (who didnt?)"

Loved the show. A lot of critics didn't like the show. they claimed it was 'too polished'. I think it was a great 70's version since Disney wasn't dominating the TV air waves back then (Hanna- Barbera cartoons were).

That's the soundtrack they used under the original opening title...I certainly remember when Channel 5 ["WNEW-TV", back then] in New York used to carry the "CLUB" every weekday at 4pm when it started in January 1977; by January 1979, just before it ended, it was on at 2:30pm...the poster included in the album is great!

I Never had that album and I've never heard the show way before my time. It was on WNEW-TV (channel 5) back in the late 70's.

They later used that song at the end of "Full Metal Jacket".

Yep, they sure did and I was surprised when I saw this in screenplay class. Did you see any of these 70's NMMC shows when the were on Vault Disney?

I actually taped some of those Vault Disney reruns of the Seventies NMMC. Caught the show originally on the local NBC station (WWBT) in the Richmond, VA area back then.

Great album. I used to have this when I was a kid. I also used to watch it religiously every day. I had a huge crush on Mindy Feldman.
