At his best he was knocking out tomato cans and fighters past their prime and a puffed up light-heavyweight Michael Spinks. It's a shame his prime was so short and he didn't fight great fighters for the short time he was great. To say he was the best ever when he was at his best is pure fantasy. You need to beat great fighters to be in that category, Tyson's career was a waste of awesome potential.

Tyson even at his very best would have lost to the all-time greats because of his fatal flaw, insecurity. Great fighters wouldn't have backed down to him and would have exposed him as a bully in the ring who when the going got tough would quit. He had the physical, but the mental part of him was weak. If he didn't knock out one of the greats in the first round or two he would have lost. He's lucky to be considered a top ten all time heavyweight.

It's not BS, Tyson lost to EVERY fighter who stood up to him, every last one. Tyson had to be convinced not to quit by Atlas in an amateur fight, Tyson was beating the hell out of this big white kid, but he kept getting up after being knocked down and Tyson tried to quit twice between rounds. That's how insecure he was. He was great for a short time, sad story, he COULD have been an all-time great, as it turned out he's not even a top ten heavyweight, sad.

There are people could definately have handled tyson in my view. although i do agree he is one of the greatest ever. I do think that he was lacking a very strong guiding mentor when both cus d'amato died, and some of the more unsavoury people in came into his life.
