@raedangwapo09 Yes, this is the US version of Seiken Densetsu 4. I hate to admit though, I actually kinda like the US voice acting better then the Japanese voice acting. ^^;;

lol sad I beat this game on ultemate but I can't seem to get all the bouts or the lvl4 yellow rabite (gowing 1 for those who don't get what I meant) yes I still play from time to time trying the camra sistem got me tho only thing I didn't like about it. Well that and that it was not a remake of "Secret of Mana" I really want a remake of that one

I don't get why people hated this game i personally enjoyed it especially the open world combat with ambient music i. the story was pretty awsome except for the ending that was sad but i enjoyed the game i just don't get what was bad about the game was it too hard or something?

@ranma44 I'm sure it's probably due to 2 things: 1 - all levels resetting after every chapter. 2 - Chapter 3's map is a mess.

I was truly disappointed in this game... It seems like a nice twist to Kingdom Hearts but... it's nothing like the Mana series. I'm just surprised the main character isn't using a giant key to attack with... instead it seems like some indestructible stick of mana :)

Hell of a run, SirVG. Picked this up a few months ago and it's been rotting in my binder until about a week ago...  just starting my Ultimate Playthrough, and wanted to see what good ol' SDA's view on it was...

Honestly speaking, I really wish they would of brought over Seiken Densetsu 3. Out of all the Mana games I've played (Secret, Legend, Children and what little I did of this one) I found it to be overall flawless and had a great amount of potential for a SNES game

Originally I stayed away from this game simply because of the awful word of mouth I heard about it, but after seeing so much of it, I'm actually very interested. Thanks, SirVG!

I actually own original Secret of mana PAL version in mint condition still, my favorite game of all time. 3 player co-op in an rpg back in those days, totally awesome. Playing trough it again right now at work :)

i beated this game on easyand nominal mode got to the last levl in hard mode but always die i dont no what i shoud do frist and the game gets a lot easyer when u hav level 3 for the wipe

this game is badass. i can't believe ign, gamespot. and all them rated it mediocre.. and poor. i finished this game in 6 hours fully playing through everything. its really something. the end credits are amazing.

Have you ever played ANY of the other Mana games? Sword of Mana (FF Adventure on the gameboy)? Secret of Mana? Legend of Mana? Cause to make that sort of statement seems to imply you have not.

I've played pretty much all of them, and this along with Legend are my favorite two. I didn't like Sword or Heroes, hated Children, and Secret's battle system drives me up the wall sometimes. ^^;;

But that's my personal preference. I don't know about LilJonJon there.

When playing Dawn I was instantly frustrated. It feels like a step back and was not even thought about. I'm surprised I even had the will power to complete the first chapter.

Secret of mana was excellent for it's time, and if you were as old as some people in gaming, this game couldn;t compare to the magic SOM left. I mean no disrespect though, but i definantly wouldn;t call dom a rpg.

Oh I've played Secret. I got it when it first came out. It's too bad that the battle system really plagues the game. If it wasn't for that, SoM would be up higher in my favorite game lists. Yes, DoM plays more like an action adventure game, but I feel much better about its battle system then SoM. Legend is still my favorite game overall.

Well i can understand your grief about the combat system in SoM, though not so bothering for me considering its snes lol. Just upsets me that these newer ones seem to look more dumbed down and targeted for kids. Sry for assuming you were younger though, people are picky about their own thing's in games. Chrono trigger is better than SoM imo, however SoM left the biggest imprint for me.

You like Secret, I like Legend. Everybody has their own tastes and I respect your opinion of liking Secret. The game had a good story (what was left of it, anyways), good graphics for its time, good music, but the battle system really plagued the game, IMO.

You almost can't compare the 3 games - each has their own strengths and weaknesses. You just have to play them for yourself and figure out which ones you like and which you don't. Secret is fine for casual play, but for people like me who speed run, it drives me nuts. ^^;;

This explains alot then, im a patient gamer, let's just say i usually work myself up before bosses and such, so it can take awhile for me to beat a rpg game. I can definantly understand how the battle system in SoM would drive people nut's though, like some hits not even registering unless enemy is at a certain stance, etc. Though it don't bother me much, but can see how it wouldn't settle well with other's.

@Replicatorz I know exactly what you mean rep. I think SoM was the one of the greatest games of all time. It also left a big imprint on me too. That was the game that got me into RPGs and swords, and fantasy, and videogame music and everything. there's nothing i would change about that game... Though I wont rag on anyone for liking this game. whatever. we all have our own personal reasons for liking things.

Depends. If you're expecting a game like Secret of Mana or Seiken Densetsu 3, you'll be disappointed. The game is more action-adventure based instead of a true RPG. Personally, I love it. It does take some time getting use to the HAVOK engine, but I found this game to be a lot of fun, especially if you get a lot of emblems and take the game up on harder difficulties.
