  • Just sounds overly complicated, how does this solve the crime of ignorance?

  • @Jammieg001 Please do not post here anymore. Pointless rhetorical crap comments are not needed. One persons ignorance is not anothers. Science deals in facts, not subjective opinions.

  • @TBonePickensetc Now now, no need to lash out at him like that. At least, not yet. Not for this kind of thing. He asked a fair (if somewhat poorly defined) question. I can understand how dealing with stupid people on the internet can be very frustrating, but attacking question-askers like this isn't going to help. You're just going to make us look like stuck up snobs we really don't have any case to present.

Hell, this very q. is how I got hooked on Technocracy, after accidently discovering it.

  • @Jammieg001, I'm going to assume what you really mean by that is "How do we reduce the baleful, anti-science ignorance (IE creationism) that's so prevalent in our current system?" Am I right?

First you remove it on a leadership level. by having a scientific, secular government that deals in facts and not opinions (the same sort of hierarchy that the scientific community uses), you remove the INFLUENCE of ignorance over major decision making.

Then you use that to revamp the education process.

  • Now how exactly one would go about doing that I'm afraid i'm not exactly qualified to tell you, and that would be left to the hands of qualified scientists in the appropriate sequence (Public relations in other words) who specialize in the fields of Psychiatry and other related fields,

But I can give a few ideas. Keep in mind these are speculative.

Teaching critical thinking skills, much smaller classrooms, making lessons more interesting so kids will actually want to learn, that's a start.

  • @Jammieg001 How do you do that, you might ask? Well, sadly I'm not exactly qualified to say for sure, as such a thing would definitely have to be put into the hands of more qualified scientists in the fields of psychiatry and other related practices, but I can give a few guesses on the sort of things they might implement..

Smaller classrooms, teaching critical thinking skills, Teaching plans that inspire rather than bore students like they do now. Who knows? The possibilities are endless.

  • I believe, I prefer the resource based economy proposed by Jacque Fresco, founder of the Venus Project and author of the book, 'The Best Money Can't Buy'. As much as I appreciate and understand the necessity to advance unto a more technologically advanced culture...we need to understand that appending any sort of barter and trade, regardless of how we elect to define it, will only result in the same socio-economic problems that currently exist today...

  • @mdlittle5466 Listen. Fresco came up with shit. Howard Scott invented Fresco's ideas and Fresco is still pretending otherwise. Also your comment is completely off the wall. Its nothing to do with barter or trade.

  • It sounds like these "energy cirtificates" will allow much corruption, crime, and unequality. What is to stop someone from hacking the system in order to transfer their cirtificates to a decision maker?

This system would have many of the same problems associated with our current system. What about counterfeiting?

A resourced based economy is a more free society, in that if you chose not to work you don't have to.

I could see technocracy as a transitional tool into a fully free sciety though.

  • @IHighLikePlane -- NO corruption is possible using energy debits. There is no crime either except maybe personal crimes. This system eliminates inequality. Gaining more certificates is pointless. Counterfeiting what? This is the original resource based economy. Its a right of citizenship. Fully free society? Any way... you might do some research, what your noting here is not really connected.

  • @TBonePickensetc I believe what @IHighLikePLane is referring to is that an 'energy accounting system' will induce the same problems which currently exist in the monetary based system today. Simply changing the name from 'fiat money' to 'energy debits' will still cause others to seek a coalescence of that which derives numerical value without regard for unbaised distribution. I agree that education is paramount and necessary regarding our future, but sequestering resources stymies advancement.

  • @mdlittle5466 '''''''I believe what @IHighLikePLane is referring to is that an 'energy accounting system' will induce the same problems which currently exist in the monetary based system today.'''''''

Your clueless and have not actually looked at this information. Don't comment here anymore.

  • @mdlittle5466 Energy accounting. Read this information instead of just jabbering nonsense please. Ecology measures the resource base to population. That is energy accounting. It is an accounting system only and has NOTHING to do with money.

  • @TBonePickensetc So...technically, what you're offering is a resource based economy...you could have just said that. :/

  • @mdlittle5466

    Did.

The video also did. What makes it unique though is the design ideas. They protect people from democracy and special interest groups of any kind.

  • @mdlittle5466 "resource based economy" is essentially just Fresco's convoluted rebranding of the Energy Accounting system when he took it (and most of his other good ideas) from technocracy INC and tried to peddle it to the unwashed masses as its own.

  • I' becoming more and more interested in technocracy!

  • @DaSkinnyApe Thanks ape.

Google Technocracy technate for more information if desired. We appreciate your interest!

  • the energy certificate sounds like a rationing system... watched it again, watching this and Zeitgeist i've seen a lot of good possibilities for a more ideal future :)

  • @BlackNeon9 - We are not connected in any way to Zeitgeist or its ideas.

  • @BlackNeon9 It rations resources within the context of sustainability yes.

  • @TBonePickensetc i was saying that both ideas are sound to me :~)

  • @BlackNeon9 For probably the clearest version that is the cleanest or science version of this material Google and read the 'Technocracy Study Course; and that is the 'unabridged' version. This is not mingled up with conspiracy or different versions of moralistic opinions like Fresco or Zeit.

    Thanks.

  • this is very interesting thank you ;o)

  • Brilliant!

  • Technocracy I think sounds ok, but the practicality is very unlikely because structurally civilization itself is based on hierarchy because of the division of labor. I think that the ultimate goals of technocracy such as time play and leisure and to live, social equality, and sustainability can be, and has been achieved in hunter-gatherer societies such as the Kalahari Bushmen, Mbuti etc. Please research Anarcho-Primitivism it holds what technocracy tries to achieve in reality for human life.

  • @Eldel15 Please do not post here again. There is no connection here to Anarcho-Primitism. If you are interested in further discussion email me instead. Otherwise good luck.

  • i just want to get off the grid, what is this in a nutshell please?

  • @isawanangel2 Take some time and Google Technocracy technate and also watch the other videos in this series.

    Getting off the grid?

Our industrial civilization depends on the grid and our survival now. Technocracy technate design is about social activism ... alerting others about non market economics... energy accounting. A non political system based on science.

  • @hitssquad FALSE

Money is based on faith.(i.e negotiable) It can also be lost, stolen, gambled, destroyed. The deffinition of poor is a lack of security. Which is a product of the price system.

The energy certificate is an account of what is consumable by any bearer. Meaning there is an X amount of consumable energy available to all citizens. If it's destroyed, it can be replaced and the amount that is left can still be accounted for. However, we would use cards instead of certificates.

  • @newb2yutube "It can also be lost, stolen, gambled, destroyed."

Can we go slow here, so we can be clear? You're referring to electronic money, right? If so, yes, electronic money can be lost or stolen, by computer-glitches and electronic fraud, but the same would apply to electronic energy certificates, wouldn't they?

There is nothing stopping the tying of money to people's identities.

  • A group of technologists/scientists that call themselves Biophysical economics scientists are using the basics of information from M. King Hubbert via Man-Hours and Distribution and other information from Frederick Soddy, and Alfred Lotka among others to formulate ideas with thermoeconomics.

These concepts mostly stem from early work done by the Technical Alliance and then published as the Technocracy Study Course/Energy accounting

'Systems ecology', and 'Industrial ecology' also are connected.

  • Okay...let me get the ball rolling here. How exactly would this be implemented? Would it be a choice or is it inevitable?

  • This is the beauty of the future. We do not know what is going to happen. In science though there is the next most probable. We have a chance if we move to a viable system.

Hubbert wrote Man-Hours And Distribution. It has been known for some time that a Price System method is not going to work, long term in the 21st. century world without destroying the earths resource base. So there is the rub. Will human culture decide that survival is more important than an antique social system? Stay tuned.

  • I rather it be forced immediately through economic motivation. Take some control of the situation. That is the only way to solve your problems. Waiting hesitantly for other people to accept your solution isn't the way to get things done.

  • 'They' are currently busy forcing conformity to the Price System and there are more of them than us.

If you are interested in getting involved ... then do so. We are all volunteers trying to inform as to this information.

We are not into fascism either. The Price System destroys itself because of it antique operating system. Then change for better or worse happens.

A good change is using our information to create a science based social system.
