"Your" is the possessive pronoun indicating possession in the second person. If you're going to be a racist by criticizing another dialect, the least you could do is know your own.

Ebonics is a term that was originally intended to refer to the language of all people descended from enslaved Black Africans, particularly in West Africa, the Caribbean, and North America. In other words, it's a form of independence from standard English. Before you can criticize the black race, or at least those within the black race that do not speak to your liking, you have to consider the history of discrimination and segregation that existed in this country. You want blacks to assimilate, but your ancestors didn't. Instead, they barred blacks from receiving an education or participating in politics and government. What you see today is the legacy of that.

And although physically slavery ended then, mental slavery still continued and still continues to some degree to this day. Jim Crow, institutional racism, Ku Klux Klan -- are any of those terms familiar with you? You want to know why us blacks haven't "gotten over" it yet? Google those terms and educate yourself. Then, imagine if you, your parents and grandparents experienced that.

Those laws barred blacks from attending the same schools, living in the same neighborhoods, and eating at the same restaurants as whites, among other things. This is the reason why there is such a divide between white and black Americans today. It's the legacy of slavery, segregation, discrimination, and other things.

The KKK was formed the same way. They were upset that slavery ended and didn't want blacks to assimilate into society. They were the first terrorist group for all intensive purposes.

@countrygurlnlove2011 Sweetheart, slavery ended in 1865 with the passage of the 13th Amendment. The Emancipation Proclamation, if that is what you're referring to with the 1863 date, did not totally end slavery, only in certain parts.
And the way people speak is a direct result of their environment. For example, if you grew up in a different region of the United States, you would speak differently than you do now. We adopt the speech patterns of those around us.
