i can't believe Mondale won only one state. The thought of having a member of Carter's administration as president scared a lot of people, particularly since the country was recovering from the recession. Unemployment was 7.5 when Reagan ran again in 1984.
Bush was neither a good VP or President; but I'm glad Ms. Geraldine never saw either position. Mondale had no chance against the Gipper, but choosing her as a VP sealed his fate.
@Nedsdag Not a great comeback. She was naive and wrong on foreign policy. But almost all Democrats since Lyndon Johnson (exception being Joe Lieberman) are naive and wrong on foreign policy. (I won't even mention the current Doofus in Chief who plays with crayons, plays golf, watches cartoons and takes vacations during his whole presidency.) I give Rep. Ferraro much credit for being a gracious decent lady after leaving public office. I wish her family the best. God bless her.
@Nedsdag Nice of you to say that. Now, show us the actual numbers if you can. At this point in his Presidency, how many days had GWB spent "on vacation" at this place or another? This would be about March 27, 2003. At that point in time, how much time had Bush spent away from the White House goofing off like Obama has done as of March 27, 2011? I don't know the numbers, but being the genius you are, I'm sure you have them. What are they, Genius? We'd like to know.
@WilliamDRowlett During 2 terms as President, Bush took spent all of part of 477 days at Camp David, on retreats and made 77 trips to his Crawford Ranch, in Texas, where he spent all or part of 490 days, on his Ranch. Bush spent 967 days on vacations or retreats. As of August 2010, Obama has spent 70 days on vacation. It's less than the "vacation" time taken during the same period by his immediate predecessor. Think for yourself, FOX News watcher.
@Nedsdag I didn't ask you about the whole 2 terms GWB served, Genius, I asked you what figures you had for the time Obama served until now and GWB had until March 27, 2003. Please be honest, if possible for someone like you, and provide the numbers. What part of my question do you liberal "genius" people NOT understand???? And where do you get these numbers? From Obama himself? I can't tell you how much I'd like to get you in front of a jury to make a fool of yourself. And Camp David, well ...
@WilliamDRowlett You are a typical conservative. According to the Washington Post, as for August 2003 (with a year and a half remaining in his first term),GWB had been on vacation 250 days, approximately 27% of the time. Prior to September 11, 2001, George W. Bush was on vacation for 96 days -- Given that he’d taken office on January 20th of 2001, that means that as of September 11th, he’d been ‘on the job’ for 234 days. If 96 of those were vacation days, he was on vacation 41% of the time.
@Nedsdag How nice. And what are the like numbers for Obama? Why do you like to hide evidence? Will you be sending an "union thug"" to take me on in the ring? If we demand you provide "voter ID", will you get in an uproar?
@WilliamDRowlett By the way, like most conservatives, you probably live in the basement of your parents' house and use their computer. Hell, you're probably unemployed and getting unemployment benefits from the government you despise so much. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and think for yourself, genius or as conservatives like you spell it "moran."
@Nedsdag You must really want to have your sissy socialist butt kicked, right? Are you Harry Reed or Rachel Maddow? Oh my God. I get accused of calling a guy a "genius" but instead be accused of misspelling "moran" which I ain't smart enough to spell. Do you want to meet in a boxing ring? Maybe I can bet my 6 figure salary of last year against your salary, Reed's salary, Rachel's salary combined and see how it goes. Proceeds go to charity of our choice. I choose Salvation Army. I'm 49 but you
@WilliamDRowlett You truly are a typical conservative. Always solving problems with violence. I bet you believe the fairy tale that Reagan cut taxes and ended communism, right? I'll take you on. I'm not afraid of guys like yourself who can dish it, but cannot take it. I gave you facts and you still don't believe it unless your dream girls Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann blew you. You conservatives hate communism, yet you want to run the US like the USSR: My way or the highway.
@Nedsdag I'll never have an actual "intellectual" debate with a "genius" of the "Left" when they go off the shelf. I never mentioned Sarah Palin, Bachmann, or kids in a basement but he/she accuses me of it. Can Nedsdag set me up with a boxing sparr with Harry Reed? Old Harry LOVES to brag he used to being a "Golden Gloves" I never was. But I'm 49. I'd love to have Harry teach me a lesson or otherwise. Is the coward Harry Reed up to a boxing match from a Texan?
@Nedsdag I'd love to take on Harry Reed. He's the classic-talking blogging clown from the underwear basement of his grandparents home weasel full of crap. If I ever got the chance to take on this weasel piece of trash-talking crap, just know that I'm almost 50 and if he had to go to the ER afterwrds, it's not that an elderly person "abused" another elderly person. He got his ass kicked. Naturally, he'll never accept such a challenge as he is a coward.
@WilliamDRowlett Of course Reid (which is the correct spelling of his name, dickweed) would lose to you. If it was someone younger who would kick your ass, would you have so much bravado? I don't think so. Like many conservatives, you'd beat up on the weak yet shy away from the strong just like your hero, Rush "no Vietnam because I have a pimple on my ass" Limbaugh.
@Nedsdag I'm not afraid of Harry Reid or Harry Reed. He's a coward, union punk, weasel, and if he wants to take on a Texan to get his candy-ass pounced on, "bring it on" Is he up to it? This is an open challenge for two middle-aged men and Harry's gonna get his sorry ass sent to the hospital. I suggest it take place in Miami. Look, I'm not far from Reid's age.
@WilliamDRowlett Harry Reid is in his 70s. If you want to be up senior citizens, be my guest. I'm no fan of Reid's to begin with. But then again, conservatives like yourself always love picking on people smaller, older, weaker, and a different color than yourself. If that makes me a liberal, then fine. I pay my taxes and keep out of trouble. My goal in life isn't to beat up on older people who disagree with me politically. That's your goal, J.R. Ewing.
@WilliamDRowlett JOE LIEBERMAN?????? IS THAT A FUCKING JOKE???????? He advocated the Iraq war for Israel's interest. You know a Jew can't be trusted in US politics because they do what is in Israel's interest, not America's. Frankly I'm not having that. No one puts ANOTHER country ahead of America.
@DJFG85 I trust Jews like Benjamin Netanyahu Prime Minister of Israel, Sen. Joe Lieberman, much more than I trust Barack Obama in the White House to protect US interests in the Middle East. You're not having that? What Muslim Brotherhood ass-kisser is President of the USA and putting the USA down a few notches as "Leader of the Free World"? Until Obama is replaced, we cannot trust him to do the right thing for this country. He is in over his head. But this is for Gerry Ferraro, God bless her!
@WilliamDRowlett Ok fine, Obama does serve the interest of foreign governments and illegal immigrants and is actively seeking the destruction of the US. He's supporting the rebels in Libya who are laces with major elements of al-Qaeda. He's a double agent. But international Jewry and their allies also seek to harm America and serve Israel.
On your last point, perhaps our discussion is for another topic. Ferraro was a gutsy pioneer for women's role in politics. (Sarah Palin, what a joke!)
@DJFG85 We have no reliable US ally in the Middle East other than Israel. Even Saudi Arabia could "flip" on us at any given moment. I'm "all ears" to any other option ....So, I stick with Israel.
@WilliamDRowlett News Flash! The REASON we don't have allies in the middle east IS BECAUSE our allegiance to Israel! Basic logic buddy. We allied ourselves with 5 million Israelis who have no resources against 300 million Arabs with vast quantities of oil. The Zionist lobby in America is so powerful, no other lobby comes close.
@danant75 don't mean woman? Oh that's okay, she's more of a man than a woman any way. Bush was brilliant in this debate. No wonder Mondale lost like hell to Reagan. The American people didn't want to have this creepy looking woman to be their VP.
Wow, she gets upset because he correctly stated the facts, pointing out that she was clueless, but then her only defense is that she is a woman. What ever
If these two were presidential candidates instead of vice-presidential candidates, this might have been the first time in my life I would have voted for a Republican over the Democrat.
Hey Bush, what about your father who has destroyed the water treatment plant in iraq in the 90s that has killed 500,000 children cholera typhoid? You and your armed Satan who kills civilian in afghanistan?
Anyone notice how "poppy" Bush can never pronounce the names of people and countries? You would think he would know how to pronounce Iran, since he gave them 10s of millions of dollars to hold the hostages until after the election of 1980. And he pronounces Lebanon, incorrectly too. He always calls Saddam "sattam." probably some homo reference to Sadam and Ganorhea
It's only condescending because she is a woman. If he said the same comment to Walter Mondale, nobody would have cared. That's sexist. Just because she is a woman you can't talk condescending to her, but it's ok to talk to a man that way
It was great to see the Obama campaign destroy Ferraro using the same insinuations of discrimination as she employed her. What goes around, comes back around.
It was a totally uncalled for attack by Bush on Ferraro! Ferraro demolished him! He realised this & at the end, he smiled in guilt! Not that theres any diference in foreign policy between these two stinky, reeking parties, but it was patronising to Ferraro! She was there the whole time, not out fishing!
Liberals can't defend themselves so they have to call the Republicans redneck racist/sexist who want a country run by religion. This is not true. Liberals want to turn us into a welfare state. While Republicans just want morals in a society. Granted I am pro-choice and pro-gay,but still a very conservative Republican leaning Libertarian.
One of the most distressing things about the Beirut slaughter of October 23, 1983 was that Ronald Reagan personally decided we would not go after the bombers who consisted of a mix of
Hezbollah'
Islamic Jihad
Amal
Abul Nidal gang
terrorists. Ronnie aways talked tough but almost always did nothing. George Fuller-Bush, Sr. knew that.
The problem is that she needed to be taught foreign policy because she knows nothing about it. It's not because she's a woman, it's because she is an idiot, just like Joe Biden
@ddtpfri i thought for a second you were going to say " its not because she's a woman, it's because she didn't make my sandwich." Therefore, good job, you went from being patronizing to a female politician to a sheer ignoramus...you're an ignorant misogynist. (clap, clap, clap, clap)
@representative46 How did what I say make me an ignorant misogynist? I just said she knows nothing about foreign policy. I also said neither does Joe Biden? How is that misogynistic? They both know nothing about foreign policy. He is a man, she is a woman, they both are two complete morons. Equals as far as their mentality. I took down a man with her as well. She is just dumb. You want to know some highly intelligent women I respect, Sarah Palin, Meg Whitman, Karyn Polito, to name a few
@representative46 What exactly was misogynistic about what I said? The definition of misogynist is a hatred of women, which I do not hate women. That would mean I hate mother, my sisters, my grandmother, and my wife, which I love more than anything. My comments had nothing to do about being negative to woman. I was bashing her and Joe Biden. Another note why is it wrong to be patronizing to a FEMALE politician, but it seems perfectly fine to patronize male politicians.
@representative46 I am for patronizing everyone who is a moron equally, I don't care if you a man, woman, black, white, hispanic, asian, irish, italian, russian. If you are a moron running for political office where your political views will jeopardize me and my families future I will patronize you. I just don't like Ferraro or Joe Biden or Clinton or Obama. I do like Sarah Palin, Meg Whitman, Christine O'Donnell. These are women with brains, I like they brains doesnt matter their sex.
@shooster11 No he is not. He just an idiot like Ferraro and Clinton. It doesn't matter the sex, you can be idiot and be a man or woman, it doesn't matter. An idiot is an idiot
We've had to "teach" Democrats for years about foreign policy. Not that they ever learned. Even Obama is now admitting, "Oh my God! Bush and Cheney were right about military tribunals at Gitmo." VP Bush was patronizing and condescending to Rep. Ferraro but he was absolutely right.
yeah, the iraq war, which George W started, which every republican US senator but one voted for in 02- that was brilliant foreign policy. the lack of wmds, the no bid contracts, the mercenaries- all wonderful
I'm tired of being nice to shrill liberals so I'm going to take the Mark Levin approach. The Iraq War began in 2003, genius, more than 10 years after the GHW Bush in this video left the Presidency. Oh my God, don't tell me you're that out of it. Smoke some crack from the liberal peace pipe. Do you want to credit Archie Manning for winning 2 Super Bowls when he played for the New Orleans Saints? That may take some thinking for this guy.
i never said George H Bush started the 2003 iraq war. typical republican response; i make a valid point, u put words in my mouth and personally attack me
Not a "typical" Republican response on my part so much as a typical Democrat Party response on your part. You attempt to take the Democrat crapola about Iraq being a failure and all of that, then impart it all to President Bush's father who was VP 20 years earlier. If you're a GW Bush hater, you drink this kool-aid. If you have a brain, you pity the fool so deranged to believe it all.
u initially said democrat foreign policy sucked. Then i said something about the 2003 Iraq War. i never said anything about george h w. bush. oh, and btw, george h w. bush, though much better than george w., lied us into the first iraq war. and during the 80s the reagan administration gave a lot of aid to Saddam. and there was the whole iran contra thing too.
You question any liberal in a minority they will try to turn around your comment as if it were sexist, racist, or prejudice in some way or another. If Bush debated Jesse Jackson (since that was a possibility), I wouldn't have been surprised if Jackson accused him of being racist. Now if Bush debated Mondale in 1980, I bet no one would have thought anything of Bush saying it to Mondale.
"Ferroro is a stupid ugly liberal. Thats y G.W..B DOES need to teach ferror about forign policy. G.WB needs to teach u about forign policy too "
And I just want to say that anyone that would so blindly follow the Republican party (and Bush family) is not in a position to mention mental capacity.
You're only defending her like that because she is a woman. That is sexist because I am willing to bet if 4 years earlier Bush said that to Walter Mondale, you would have looked the other way and thought nothing of it.
Of course it is! He felt that he could use the public perception that women are "weak" on topics of national security and foreign affairs to attack her on that point. It was rude and sexist.
@TheGeekyNinjaStudios She was not foreign policy novice! She had been a member of the House of Representatives for six years, in which time she served on the Democratic Policy and Steering Committee as well as on the Budget Committee, which gave her authority over the Congressional purse strings. He was implying that because she was a woman, she couldn't handle foreign affairs.
@TheDivine13 How did he imply that, by calling her Miss? If she did not fully articulate her understanding, it was completely fair game, and not sexist at all. If you have more experience, then you are more experienced. It may seem rude, but if it's the reality of the situation, then it is fully viable as an avenue of debate.
And the house committees are not nearly as in depth as the CIA, nor would she likely have much access to important data as a still junior a 3 term member.
@TheGeekyNinjaStudios He implied it through a variety of ways, including referring to her as Ms. and not as Congresswoman or Representative. Additionally, his patronizing attitude shows that he feels the need to educate the lesser individual regarding foreign policy. Furthermore, despite being a House member for six years, she served as Conference Secretary, on the policy committee, and she would have a thorough knowledge of foreign affairs.
@TheDivine13: Well, maybe he did it without even noticing. I mean he could have an Ernest Hemingway type personality and believe that anyone beside himself is second rate...
really, can you provide a source for this claim? I bet the past 3 Democrat Presidents had better grades than George Herbert Walker Bush and none of them had anyone pulling strings for them.
Still stand by that prediction? I think the "magic" of Obama is wearing off. I would call it a "voodoo black magic" but then it would be inferred by the mention of color that I'm a "racist". Race isn't what it's about; character & competence is. The US elected an unqualified "unknown" in 2008. Also, I don't expect Palin to be the GOP nominee in 2012.
OMG, where do you people come from and do you ever get laid where ever that is?
Palin is trailer park trash, no charisma, cannot speak fluently, lacks education, lacks experience, the experience she does have has been disastrous. She is above average in looks for her age but by no means strikingly good looking.
I love Bush Sr.!!! I also like Ferraro, shes a good woman and would have been a good VP, but Mondale was a awful candidate for the job! I only wish Bush was president from 1989-1997, we probably would not be in this mess!
I suspect Clinton would have beaten Bush II if he could have run for a third term. His approval ratings at the end of his presidency were equal to Reagan's.
Pres. Bush 43 stole nothing; Constitutional process was followed. You've mentioned a "Bush Jr." Well, Bush 41 DOES have son named "Bush Jr." but "Bush Jr." is not our President (Bush Jr. works privately).
al gore lost in 2000 because of the recount and republicans despearte to get back the white hous.............12,000 un counted ballts its like when jfk won ha!
Wrong, here's why. When Bush ran in 88, he ran on the Reagan record and won. When Gore ran in 2000, he ran away from Clinton & wouldn't let Clinton campaign for him. Whereas Reagan campaigned often for Bush.
It should also be noted that Reagans approval number in 88 were at about the same place, high 60's, as Clintons were in 2000.
While Bush's win was in effect Reagans 3rd term. 2000 can't be viewed as a loss for Gore since he ran away from Clinton & not on the Clinton/Gore record.
Apparently she needed A LOT OF HELP! Whether she's pissed at Bush or not. Holy smokes, didn't they get their clock cleaned by Bush? Ms. Ferraro, you need A LOT OF HELP, trust me.
To accuse your opponent of being condescending is pathetic. It's like admitting that you are [stupid/ignorant/wrong], but you want to be told with respect.
It looked like Biden played nice in the debates. If he had appeared condescending or mean, then it would have hurt him by making alot of viewers upset. I think Biden knew this.
Wow: Bush Senior and John McCain are just as cranky! Barack Obama for president! He won the debate, based on all the polls, especially with the crucial uncommited voters. I am so glad America is waking up: right after Palin's silly convention speech, I heard so many people say "She's so pretty" and "She's a nice hockey mom"...like THAT is all it takes to be a heartbeat away from the [old 72 year old man] presidency!!! Barack Obama for President!
Well, see I had thought because Perot admitted to being Republican and voted for Bush (2001-2009) and since a majority of his attacks were made at George HW Bush that most of the votes he took were taken from Bush. I did the math if you give Perot's votes all to Bush, he would have won in a landslide victory. Clinton would have only carried AR, MD, NY, and D.C., even MA, IL, and CA would have gone to Bush. His approval rating reached 89 highest at the time, so he could see him doing it.
Hmph Bush led his son into being president! I strongly dislike his son and I do not care for his politics either and I'm glad Clinton and Gore had him voted out. The Country was alot better of then and it would be better of now if we had Gore and Lieberman or Kerry and Edwards right now instead of Bush and Cheney. Now we need Obama and Biden not McCain and Palin.
Clinton just rode the successful economy of Reagan and Bush. He made no significant changes to the economy while president, therefore he had to have rode the in the Reagan-Bushonomics of the 80s and early 90s. The surplus everyone claims Clinton left, he got because of Bush and Reagan, now the son was fool and pissed through all the money. Now it's time to elected the long awaited second term of George H.W. Bush with JOHN MCCAIN!!!!! which was stolen by Ross Perot I might add.
Bush was a former head of the CIA and also Vice President for eight years. Knew a lot more about foreign policy than Ferraro. That is one of the reasons why Mondale and Ferraro lost so badly.
Mrs. Ferraro makes a good counter-punch in the debate here. However, on the whole Bush won the night. Ferraro was just too committed at the time to being a feminist first. She came across in the process as being too stuffy.
If you have a mother or a daughter, you owe Ms. Ferraro a debt of gratitude for being a courageous pioneer who took daily unfair hits to open one more door of the "man's world" to a woman. If McCain loses do you plan on blaming Palin?? Or might there be other factors??? In 1984, the rich were getting richer, they didn't want to see that change and having God on the ticket wouldn't have changed the outcome of that election.
My great grandmothers (paternal and maternal), grandmothers (paternal and maternal), mother all proudly voted Reagan-Bush 80 and 84 because they knew Carter-Mondale and Mondale-Ferraro didnt know what they were doing. My family supports Palin because she knows what she is doing and will make a great vice president and maybe president. If McCain-Palin loses I will blame George W. Bush (not HWBush) for not getting us our Iraq and fucking up the economy. WBush has ruined the Bushes and the Reps
What? The extent of Palin's foreign policy experience was the fact that she was close to Kamchatka. She doesn't know major political themes of our day (e.g. Bush Doctrine) and I bet has no clue what her Constitutional job would be as VP. Her domestic policy is naive and could make America a living hell. If McCain gets elected, I'm high-tailing it to Canada. If she becomes president, I'm moving to Madagascar. I don't want to be near the U.S. when it crumbles under her complete lack of knowledge.
Well good, we would be better off without people like you in this country, good riddens. She was a Mayor and a Governor that's a hell of a lot more than you can say about Barack Obama. Besides everyone knows the Vice Presidency is a useless job, just ask 2nd president John Adams. The only purpose a VP serves is to replace the president. But, even if that were to happen she more than qualified because she led a city and state and is our most popular governor in the US.
I disagree with this somewhat. The role of VP has been altered and expanded dramatically under the Bush administration. The amount of power that the executive branch holds in general has caused many people, from all walks of political persuasion, to take pause. Dick Cheney has redefined what is means to be VP.
This is not pro-Obama/Biden jargon - - I just think that we as voters must carefully consider the top AND bottom of the ticket like never before. Its not a "useless job" anymore.
i can't believe Mondale won only one state. The thought of having a member of Carter's administration as president scared a lot of people, particularly since the country was recovering from the recession. Unemployment was 7.5 when Reagan ran again in 1984.

He got his ass kicked. Naturally, he'll never accept such a challenge as he is a coward.
WilliamDRowlett 10 months ago
@WilliamDRowlett Of course Reid (which is the correct spelling of his name, dickweed) would lose to you. If it was someone younger who would kick your ass, would you have so much bravado? I don't think so. Like many conservatives, you'd beat up on the weak yet shy away from the strong just like your hero, Rush "no Vietnam because I have a pimple on my ass" Limbaugh.
Nedsdag 10 months ago
@Nedsdag I'm not afraid of Harry Reid or Harry Reed. He's a coward, union punk, weasel, and if he wants to take on a Texan to get his candy-ass pounced on, "bring it on" Is he up to it? This is an open challenge for two middle-aged men and Harry's gonna get his sorry ass sent to the hospital. I suggest it take place in Miami. Look, I'm not far from Reid's age.
WilliamDRowlett 10 months ago
@WilliamDRowlett Harry Reid is in his 70s. If you want to be up senior citizens, be my guest. I'm no fan of Reid's to begin with. But then again, conservatives like yourself always love picking on people smaller, older, weaker, and a different color than yourself. If that makes me a liberal, then fine. I pay my taxes and keep out of trouble. My goal in life isn't to beat up on older people who disagree with me politically. That's your goal, J.R. Ewing.
Nedsdag 10 months ago
@WilliamDRowlett JOE LIEBERMAN?????? IS THAT A FUCKING JOKE???????? He advocated the Iraq war for Israel's interest. You know a Jew can't be trusted in US politics because they do what is in Israel's interest, not America's. Frankly I'm not having that. No one puts ANOTHER country ahead of America.
DJFG85 10 months ago
@DJFG85 I trust Jews like Benjamin Netanyahu Prime Minister of Israel, Sen. Joe Lieberman, much more than I trust Barack Obama in the White House to protect US interests in the Middle East. You're not having that? What Muslim Brotherhood ass-kisser is President of the USA and putting the USA down a few notches as "Leader of the Free World"? Until Obama is replaced, we cannot trust him to do the right thing for this country. He is in over his head. But this is for Gerry Ferraro, God bless her!
WilliamDRowlett 10 months ago
@WilliamDRowlett Ok fine, Obama does serve the interest of foreign governments and illegal immigrants and is actively seeking the destruction of the US. He's supporting the rebels in Libya who are laces with major elements of al-Qaeda. He's a double agent. But international Jewry and their allies also seek to harm America and serve Israel.
On your last point, perhaps our discussion is for another topic. Ferraro was a gutsy pioneer for women's role in politics. (Sarah Palin, what a joke!)
DJFG85 10 months ago
@DJFG85 We have no reliable US ally in the Middle East other than Israel. Even Saudi Arabia could "flip" on us at any given moment. I'm "all ears" to any other option ....So, I stick with Israel.
WilliamDRowlett 10 months ago
@WilliamDRowlett News Flash! The REASON we don't have allies in the middle east IS BECAUSE our allegiance to Israel! Basic logic buddy. We allied ourselves with 5 million Israelis who have no resources against 300 million Arabs with vast quantities of oil. The Zionist lobby in America is so powerful, no other lobby comes close.

Ciaresayton 1 year ago
It's only condescending because she is a woman. If he said the same comment to Walter Mondale, nobody would have cared. That's sexist. Just because she is a woman you can't talk condescending to her, but it's ok to talk to a man that way

representative46 1 year ago
@representative46 How did what I say make me an ignorant misogynist? I just said she knows nothing about foreign policy. I also said neither does Joe Biden? How is that misogynistic? They both know nothing about foreign policy. He is a man, she is a woman, they both are two complete morons. Equals as far as their mentality. I took down a man with her as well. She is just dumb. You want to know some highly intelligent women I respect, Sarah Palin, Meg Whitman, Karyn Polito, to name a few
ddtpfri 1 year ago
@representative46 What exactly was misogynistic about what I said? The definition of misogynist is a hatred of women, which I do not hate women. That would mean I hate mother, my sisters, my grandmother, and my wife, which I love more than anything. My comments had nothing to do about being negative to woman. I was bashing her and Joe Biden. Another note why is it wrong to be patronizing to a FEMALE politician, but it seems perfectly fine to patronize male politicians.
ddtpfri 1 year ago
@representative46 I am for patronizing everyone who is a moron equally, I don't care if you a man, woman, black, white, hispanic, asian, irish, italian, russian. yeah, the iraq war, which George W started, which every republican US senator but one voted for in 02- that was brilliant foreign policy. the lack of wmds, the no bid contracts, the mercenaries- all wonderful
exbronco1980 2 years ago
I'm tired of being nice to shrill liberals so I'm going to take the Mark Levin approach. The Iraq War began in 2003, genius, more than 10 years after the GHW Bush in this video left the Presidency. Oh my God, don't tell me you're that out of it. Smoke some crack from the liberal peace pipe. Do you want to credit Archie Manning for winning 2 Super Bowls when he played for the New Orleans Saints? That may take some thinking for this guy.
WilliamRowlett 2 years ago
i never said George H Bush started the 2003 iraq war. typical republican response; i make a valid point, u put words in my mouth and personally attack me
exbronco1980 2 years ago
Not a "typical" Republican response on my part so much as a typical Democrat Party response on your part. You attempt to take the Democrat crapola about Iraq being a failure and all of that, then impart it all to President Bush's father who was VP 20 years earlier. If you're a GW Bush hater, you drink this kool-aid. If you have a brain, you pity the fool so deranged to believe it all.
WilliamRowlett 2 years ago

You question any liberal in a minority they will try to turn around your comment as if it were sexist, racist, or prejudice in some way or another. If Bush debated Jesse Jackson (since that was a possibility), I wouldn't have been surprised if Jackson accused him of being racist. Now if Bush debated Mondale in 1980, I bet no one would have thought anything of Bush saying it to Mondale.

Of course it is! He felt that he could use the public perception that women are "weak" on topics of national security and foreign affairs to attack her on that point. It was rude and sexist.
TheDivine13 1 year ago
@TheDivine13 How was it sexist? He had more than 20 years of foreign policy experience, and she had none. Patronizing yes, but in no way sexist.
TheGeekyNinjaStudios 1 year ago
@TheGeekyNinjaStudios She was not foreign policy novice! She had been a member of the House of Representatives for six years, in which time she served on the Democratic Policy and Steering Committee as well as on the Budget Committee, which gave her authority over the Congressional purse strings. He was implying that because she was a woman, she couldn't handle foreign affairs.
TheDivine13 1 year ago
@TheDivine13 How did he imply that, by calling her Miss? If she did not fully articulate her understanding, it was completely fair game, and not sexist at all. If you have more experience, then you are more experienced. It may seem rude, but if it's the reality of the situation, then it is fully viable as an avenue of debate.
And the house committees are not nearly as in depth as the CIA, nor would she likely have much access to important data as a still junior a 3 term member.
TheGeekyNinjaStudios 1 year ago
@TheGeekyNinjaStudios He implied it through a variety of ways, including referring to her as Ms. and not as Congresswoman or Representative. Additionally, his patronizing attitude shows that he feels the need to educate the lesser individual regarding foreign policy. Furthermore, despite being a House member for six years, she served as Conference Secretary, on the policy committee, and she would have a thorough knowledge of foreign affairs.

If McCain loses do you plan on blaming Palin?? Or might there be other factors??? My great grandmothers (paternal and maternal), grandmothers (paternal and maternal), mother all proudly voted Reagan-Bush 80 and 84 because they knew Carter-Mondale and Mondale-Ferraro didnt know what they were doing. Bush (not HWBush) for not getting us our Iraq and fucking up the economy. WBush has ruined the Bushes and the Reps
ddtpfri 3 years ago
