I don't want to downplay the seriousness if the nuclear mess in Japan.... BUT baby rabbits can sometimes lose their ears when the mother rabbit accidentally eats them, while cleaning after birth sacks off of them. Growing up we had tons of rabbits and missing ears was common. Especially if the mother was having her first litter and being inexperienced at cleaning the new borns.

Um...I raise rabbits. This is not radiation damage. The mother simply chewed off it's ears in the birthing process. It actually happens more often then thought. It just so happens, that this bunny was born ironically after/during the nuclear plant explosion.
