Anyone who feels that it's only pixel art if you use the pencil tool to create each pixel is an idiot. It's an image, made up of computer pixels = pixel art. The lines, fills etc were all drawn by hand by the artist, no 3D rendering was done. I'll be dammed if I'm going to sit here drawing each pixel one at a time when there's a line tool, just to satisfy some little picky moron.

It would simply be a matter of drawing two pixels, moving up and along one, drawing two more and continuing to do so until I had decided my line is long enough. Time consuming-- yes, difficult-- no.

Also, art can be generated in many ways which some could consider cheating. Some might consider that creating a scene in a 3D editor is cheating, since the lighting, shadows and textures can be...

I don't think a piece of art should be graded on how it was created, instead, I would grade on what the final result was, regardless of the path of the artist. But since this is a video of a pixel art creation, I would have to agree with your initial statement: It isn't pixel art. It's video art.

That probably didn't even take him an hour. It's very simple pixel work. Not a lot of shading that's needed to be done, it's all symmetrical so he was able to copy a lot of pieces and just edit them a bit.

Most artists will spend 48+ hours on one piece alone to get it to what they feel is finished.

I think this one took between 1 and 2 hours. Quite a bit of time considering but I think that was because I was just getting into it. It is a very simple one.

The longest I've spent on a single pixel art piece must be 6 or 7 hours but I really didn't feel it was worth it. Doubt I would spend that amount of time on one again. Especially since I'm more concerned about the video than the final piece and it isn't enjoyable to watch 6 hours of work compressed into 5 minutes or so.

The building you saw being made in this video was part of a larger image which included 4 buildings. One of those buildings was a McDonalds, you see it for a moment as I wanted to use the same sized windows. I didn't record the making of that building though. Thanks for watching :)
