  • rOBERT PLANT alwayz amazes me with all of his music!

  • I wish I was Robert Plant...

  • It might have been interesting for Robert Plant to have teamed up with David Bowie, as this is similar to the work the latter did in the early 80's.

  • Real Classic Robert Plant, here.

  • Hello

  • love it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Great video.....

  • @shubh22 Lennon deserves to be up there, but there s just someting about Plant that makes him the best. And his solo work is better than Led Zep

  • @ryanz123987 I like John Lennon don't get me wrong, but there is this thing people have with him I will never understand, his voice was never on the same level as Paul's, Paul always had the range, and diversity, Lennon just had blues grit, and a decent singing voice, and great songwriting skills, but he was never an amazing singer. People like Paul, Gillan, Plant, and Mercury are on a whole other level.

  • I forgot how much I love this track

  • This isn't bad, but its a huge change from Led Zeppelin. I guess its cool that he has such a profound diversity, but I don't care for this.

  • @towcar68 You are incorrect, actually. This is not so much different from Zeppelin's music, in consideration of the interesting album, Coda (their last, produced by Jimmy Page), and the remarkable "In Through the Out Door".

  • you were pumping iron while i was pumping irony, ;)

  • i would give my first born child to get robert hair

  • Love this song!

  • yeah!!!!!

  • GOD

  • I love Robert plant. Idk about the 80s beat tho lol.

  • Haha, I remember back in 2002 or 2003 when i was very little I would say I was gonna marry him. xD

  • "eye for an eye" gives me goose bumps

    awesome

  • One of my faves, from back then. Really takes me back, now, as I listen to the tune, again. Truly an era of song writing...well...that we just don't get anymore. maybe that is why most radio stations have gone to programs from the good ole 80s....

Words to ponder over. Thanks for this upload, Ryder276.

  • This song brings back a nice bunch of memories for me, including of when I first started playing bass.

Also ONE HELUVA visually well-made video...I would REALLY love to see the feature-length movie that I often imagine this video to be a condensed version or trailer of... :)

  • My favorite song from Robert Plant.

  • Probably the only song in history to reference the Tonton Maucoute. Plant is just genius how he used it in the lyrics. I love this man eternal!

  • Was and still is the best rock singer the world has produced.Has been voted as such.Powerful singer to say the least

  • awesome song, this song gets into your sole...;'][-=

  • @conqururfear sole or soul?

  • I remember driving around in my '88 Ford Mustang 5.0 listening to this album. Love this song. Those were the good old days...now I'm 40, and I like to go back and listen to this stuff from time to time for the nostalgia. Too bad artists don't/can't make music like this anymore.

  • Such an incredible singer. He is definitely one of my favorites. LOVE HIM.

  • plant has the best voice of any classic rock singer, McCartney #2

  • @ryanz123987 Lennon#1,Plant#2,Mccartney#3,in terms of voice

  • @ryanz123987 Plant is #1, don't know who is #2.

  • @ryanz123987 He does. But 'Faul'?

  • like how they throw in the jimmy look'a'like ...young!!

  • this was and still is great music....I always loved the line "30 second attention span"...that was true in the 80's and today it is probably a 3 nano-second attention span....

  • @rustysteam "MAKES SENSE!!"

  • @rustysteam this came out in 1994 not the 80's i went to this concert. manic nirvana

  • @TheErickStar

"Heaven Knows" Single by Robert Plant from the album Now and Zen, Released 1988.

  • @JahmekyaNo1 ahh yes you are right totally forgot about now n zen lol dah

  • That's a great album.

  • It's funny how everybody jumped onto the Fretless Bass bandwagon after Japan had made it trendy. I bought this record back then, just because it had said instrument in the middle eighth. Great tune but a poxy vid Rob

  • Desde niño, me alucinó su voz, este vídeo (cuando los grababa )esa guitarra, el ex vocalista de LED ZEPPELIN, en solitario hizo muchísimas canciones inolvidables.

  • Plant's long and very successful solo career tells me that without him Jimmy Page's genius would never have been realized in Led Zeppelin.

  • I am a huge zep fan, but i never understood the whole transition from hardcore blues/rock n roll-folk tranquility to the middle eastern-musical thingy.... Even when page and plant did the unleaded tour, i was like...why couldn't they have picked jazz or funk instead.

  • this would have been greater if Page did a cameo, since he did the guitar track! Still an awesome song...seeing Robert this Saturday...can't wait.

  • The cock rock bit at the end is the best! He sings like Dr Rockso from Metalocalypse! C-C-C-YEAAAH!!!

  • Strangely this song has a sexy feel :/

  • Listen to that tone coming from Jimmy Page's telecaster. That's heaven!

  • @nicksterkemper1 wheres jimmy page

  • @fenderrlee Jimmy's not in the video of course, but plays throughout most of the song, the louder, rough, bending stuff, the big solo, and licks at the end.

  • @fenderrlee

Doing his own LP that same year, remember? Outrider.

  • I fell in love with this album the first time I heard it in San Ramon,California January1988.23 years later, and it would still be one of the top 5 I would take if I were trapped on a deserted island for life!

  • 80's videos were wacked. Dancing with the Taliban? Oh Well.... Hot Fricking Song Though!

  • 0:57 it looked like he was going to do a stirptees lol

  • tonton macoute is Uncle Gunnysack

  • only R. Plant could reference the Ton Ton Macoo in a song....Heaven Knows

  • @ripper58 Tonton Macoute :D

  • @tarynned .....heaven knows ; 0

  • moar robert plant less nato troops in afghanistan!...

  • The song's amazing ... the video makes me want to chomp a bar of Fry's Turkish delight

  • @ianasdfg lol ;-)

  • What I love about Robert Plant apart from his amazing voice is the fact that he has been making excellent music for decades and is still doing so. His new stuff is getting a lot of air play in the UK. Keep on doing what you're doing Robert! I'll never get tired of it.

  • Awesome post. Laura

  • Good video, Robert plant is amazing

  • ..Jimmy Page (period).. and (feather) [>_<]

  • Great song!

  • MR Page on the guitar in this video AWESOME !!!!

  • i still wonder what,he,s hiding underneath his black tight jeans!!!!!

  • its disgusting, robert plant smeared up his face with this pop, lol

  • @lukalebanidze I wouldn't say that anything Robert Plant has done can be consider POP. Sure this is a bit more mellow than Zep, but this doesn't sound like a N'sync song or anything.

  • Great tune, love all his solo stuff; too bad the videos were so cheesy..lol....holla!

  • @MsTwisted10 Yes, the eighties were cheesy. But at least the cheese knew how to rock hard.

  • this song is just one of those awsome songs man.

  • Quite clear to everyone that this guy is in a total higher intellectual level.

  • jimmy page is the guitaest on this song!!!!!!!!! best ever

  • Comment removed

  • I remember buying this single on vinyl aged 14. It led to my discovery of Led Zeppelin soon after that. It is great to rediscover this song again so many years on.

  • lead guitarist sounds awfully familiar ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing guitar solo 2:30

  • i heard him in ...2007 i think...barely any voice left in him. ian gillan is doing better

  • Robert is a well rounded artist but the 80ies were not the best time for hair styles or fashion choices.

  • @Indigogo06 Agree, hair is the only bad point about Plant:)

  • Of course it doesn't make sense...Only heaven knows!

  • this song reminds me of a great friend Davida Ashley. I was her tall cool one. She was a huge Robert plant fan!

  • I have the cassette, the CD, and yes a video tape! And now I'm gonna download to my Zune

  • this album is hands down great. The Way I Feel is one of my favorites.

  • @LegalizeWeedUSA MIne too! How come it's the only track not up here?

  • Plant and and Page spark of each other so well, great tasteful guitar Jimmy!

  • the words 'heaven knows' means 'where is all the almonds' in arabic -I saw him once on speaking of this video. He said the locals thought they were a bunch of 'nuts' running through the desert yelling that.

  • @otto3663 saw the same show. funny.

  • I love Plant, but the lyrics to this song make no sense.

  • I know islam asshole crybabies hate this - "where is all the almonds" - next thing you know everyone is dead and no one cares - ISLAM is a lie -come find me pussies

  • This is when MTV and VH1 aqctually played music...........good music! I feel sorry for all of you young'ens today. This era was transforming! Miss the good old days of the 80s! Egad! Why does music suck so bad now?

  • @DazzaZulu i don't know - i thought it might be just me, that I'd gotten older and conservative. But then I found many young ones think todays music is average too, preferring older stuff

  • sucky sucky five dorrah

  • must be wonderfull travelling by camel in the desert ,where there is no trafficnoise or noisy neighbours !!!! sleeping in a tent watching the stars with someone you love!!!! it,s my ultimate fantasy !!!!

  • Robert Plant would never make it today, he'd be too old and not cool enough; ya so much for today's music. There is talent out there but it not a chance of going mainstream in a big way.

  • @carsearch2001 , where do you come from anyway ,out off space ???? Robert has got lots of experience and i,am sure ,he knows what he is doing( 40 years in the bizz

Smart has the brains, stupid has got the balls !!!!!! Touch'e

  • @TheSunnybunny69, I'm guessing you were drunk when you "wrote" this, English is your second language or you "got the balls". Either way, I am a huge fan of Roberts and KNOW for a fact that image is entirely too much in today's music scene. That is the jist of the comment. By the way, the expression is outer space not "out off space" which I am guessing you actually meant "out of space".

  • @carsearch2001 So that album he did with Alison Krause (sp?) wasn't a big hit?

  • @carsearch2001 talent has nothing to do with being 'cool' anyhow. God, how old are you anyway?

  • @dennilane Old enough to know that you can't read. At no point did I suggest that Robert wasn't cool; you obviously don't understand the subtly of a facetious comment. If you don't understand something shut you mouth so that you don't spread your ignorance.

  • @carsearch2001 you should wash your attitude foolish boy!!!!!

  • @TheSunnybunny69 I am assuming you meant, "watch my attitude"; oooooh good retort.

  • @carsearch2001 Why don't you stop spreading your ignorance and learn to spell?

  • @sumerianwarrior Learn to read you putz.

  • @carsearch2001 I can read. It's just that ignorance is not my first language, cunt.

  • @sumerianwarrior , ignorance is not your first language, no kidding, it's your bible, you simple twit. More fun, more fun!

  • @carsearch2001 Well done. You just graduated fool school by making no sense whatsoever.

  • @sumerianwarrior you call that a comeback; rhyming fool and school? Now, deliver a retort more worthy of your wanna be status as a "warrior". I'm waiting, and please don't disappoint this time. It is time to take a beating on a blog just as you incur daily in real life.

  • @carsearch2001 First of all ,i do not drink,only when it,s 35 degrees outside !!!!

second,i,am a dutch woman with an italian father ! by the way, do you speak dutch ?

MR KNOW IT ALL!!! YOU DONT KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT MUSIC

  • @TheSunnybunny69 Hello dutch joke.

  • Love this song and Robert Plant ♥ Unique voice and style ♥

  • MAN.......right at 2:36 ....just fffFFOOOOOOMMM!!.......right out into space. just launches that guitar. Page just rips the solo.....

  • Yo Robert. You're the man.

  • Muito bom mesmo!!!

  • Robert Plant - the greatest Voice & amazing musician !

  • jimmy page did the guitar solo in this song.

  • Talent! Talent! Talent!

  • Best lead vocal EVER!!!!!

  • Robert pant rocks ! I wish i saw him !!!!

  • the song is better than the video XD

  • GREAT song!

  • 57 years old this June to come, saw them in 1969 and 1970, rock on Robert Plant, best for me ever, ship of fools and many more. ACE

  • AWESOME.... Rock god Robert Plant singing AOR, really, can it get any better than this???

I absolutely love his solo cds, but I still remember listening to this on the radio back in the good old days...Robert Plant Rocks

  • @jenplumb people who use gay as an adjective to describe things are the ones who are GAY.

  • this is not gay, it is pure AOR.

  • @jenplumb you are the definition of a FUCKING MORON

  • and indeed, a great part of Robert Plants success in his solo ventures is owed to picking top notch Musicians that could compliment Robert Plants incredible talent for both a Rock and Blues feel with a Modern edge.

wow that was brilliantly put if i do say so myself >:]

  • bucktheusa, you are a complete Fucking tool!

although we all loved the mighty Led Zeppelin,

and many like me grew up with them, Robert Plant was an absolute major success in his solo career. although it was a different approach to music, his solo career allowed him to feel totally free to do whatever he wanted to do musically, and the results were absolutely amazing!

i don't even think Mr. plant himself realized just how successful he would be going solo.

  • tinky guiter lol thats jimmy page

    80's flavour tru

  • @bucktheusa uhhh dude you make it sound like he's the reason led zep broke up. Sorry to burst your bubble but it was a group decision to call it quits when they did. And the keyboards you call cheesey were used on plenty of led zep songs on their last two albums. But I do agree. This song is a bit cheesy. Especially the end when the predictable 80's guitar riffs kick in. They seem so out of place. He probably said to himself, "that's what kids are listening to nowadays."

  • @hospitalbedpan1 Losing John Bonham & Jason being so young then; there was NO choice but to park it as u said, Was awesome to see them via sattlelite in 83' @ Live Aid.

  • @hospitalbedpan1 thats when i knew the 80s fucked allot of things up, why god , why.

i mean the 80s is the most used source for insparation for pop idols these days and thats why todays pop sucks.

but still Robert plant re-invented the 80s in some of his later songs.

  • @bucktheusa Aw, c'mon...it wasn't that bad.

Most musicians/singers who strike it out on their own as a solo artist are pretty good.

A lot of them harken back to music that influenced them before they made it big and can quite simply do anything them damn well please.

    Look at Peter Gabriel...

  • There's no two ways about it: Robert Plant is a god. He did this one at the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary show and it was amazing.

  • robert is the greatest love in my life) It's succussful vid, thanks)

  • absolutely cool

  • i didnt know robert liked asian women , thats so bitchin !!!!!

  • This takes me right back to high school and 1988...great song.

  • My aunt used to play this all the time..memories!

  • @666reasons2killU me too! his best solo album!

  • @666reasons2killU me too. we're about the same age. woot! woot!

  • iT IS LED ZEP PLANT STILL, PERIOD!!

  • One of his best period. Take it anytime over Zep. But What Do I Know Anyway...*

  • @DreamPark9 I agree totally.

  • this song.....is almost.........perfect.

  • Always wonder who the band was on this cause they must have been good----He won't pick crap. Robert you are pure talent and class!

  • they were great live. saw in 1988 for this tour, & played In the Mood awesome, too. Stevie Ray Vaughn opened, but Plant & Co. were better

  • The definition of AWESOMELY BAD.

  • The answers will surely be found in fashion. RASIV (Katalina Translates)

  • Love the lyric "You were pumping iron as I was pumping irony..." so cheesy it's beautiful....pure Plant.

  • Robert Plant. Hands Down, Best Rock Voice Ever. 32 yrs. old, love Chris Cornell, Chad Kroeger, Dave Grohl, but Robert is King. Be well, Beautiful King.

  • @baribkny11235 RIGHT!!

  • Based on that list there baribkny I would seriously suggest you consider taking the rest of your life off.

  • plant rules...no brianer...best c.d. ever recorded.........sorry.....im biased. beats the hell out of the hip-hop raw sewage???----u be the judge!!

  • @rocketman6464 i have this still on LP lol

  • @rocketman6464What is a Brianer ?I have a friend named Brian..Is that slang for his place of origin?

  • @rocketman6464 fuck him.overrated singer

  • @rocketman6464 : Couldn't of said it better my self.

You should also check out ''The Way I Feel'' !

2 best songs on that album.

  • bought the cd twice.... he's got zen

  • another song for my anthem

  • It's so 80s... not used to plant like this

  • incredible tune...

  • プラント大好きです

  • いいね

  • Κρυστάλλινη φωνή - Crystal voise

  • Best thing he ever did, along with Big Log...*

  • 29 Palms, too.

  • @DreamPark9 I would also recommend the song, "In the Mood". it's on The Principle of Moments CD along with the aforementioned "Big Log"

  • He was the bomb fox

  • healty voice, an lots of talent.
