I remember staying up on playstation fight hordes of acids spitters and those lightning throwers. So intense man. And the atmosphere was so eerie throughout the game, from the town to the dungeon.
I remember this song. You first hear it in the village at the start, as you talk to the townspeople about the disturbing things that have happened near the dungeon. People disappearing, mysterious creatures spotted...
Sets a haunting and creepy tone for what is to come as you actually venture down there.

@Beldinoob agreed, the nostalgic feeling of those old games will never come again... It's simply not possible, now that we're being bombed with the one super-game after the next... the "true titans" in games are never to be seen again, sadly.. :/

going back a little, Half-Life 2 and Morrowind had that atmosphere and feeling too.
plus the new Deus Ex and Elder Scrolls games look really good. I think so long as you keep an eye out for the right kind of games these gaming years will look just as good in hindsight... though I fear we'll never see claymation again :(

I loved this game...I loved the idea of npcs with actual voice overs...I indulged in the musical soundtrack...but when the game started and this great soundtrack was playing I had to just stop and close my eyes and listen for at least 30 mins! Thank you soo much for posting this!!!!!

This music has always soothed & comforted me to my very core! :)
I played the 1st Diablo while recuperating from 1 of too many surgeries, & it helped keep my mind off of the more intense moments of pain.
I stayed 'in town' to listen to this Tristram music whenever I was too tired to play anymore, & it was the perfect lullaby...it still is<3
Thanks for posting, its as beautiful as I remember & it still takes my mind off the pain.:)
