Actually, I'm not surprised. I wasn't around for the original Minneapolis revolution (no pun intended... or was it) but this has less of this feel and more of a spin on the old MoTown sound.

Whereas if it were a Prince cut, it'd have been (at least in my mind) much less conventional in structure and feel.

Then again, that's just me. I was born in 82, and my first memories are of Purple Rain and Little Red Corvette ... Post Dickerson Era.

Unlike the rest of the album which Prince wrote, this is Dez Dickerson's track. Guy was a fantastic songwriter in his own right and killed on guitar. Never really got the attention he deserved, if he had a solo album back then it would've been classic.

The whole Revolution, from when Dez was there, to when Wendy came on, were all great songwriters. Every single one of them wrote brilliant stuff. That's why they're my favorite band.
