I wonder if foot massage will appear to be ticklish for some people with like... sensitive feet? Are there any specific amount of pressure that should be used?
@stopbeingafool77 Rule number 1 is you should always be firm in your movements at foot massag: how firm depends on the recipient offcourse, but don't be as gentle in pressure as with a back massage.
I had a basketball injury about 14 years ago and it broke all the metatarsals bones in my foot ..Unfortunately I never got substantial Physio...I was wondering what type of massage would you recommend for me to get to loosen up gain some more flexibility in my joints...Im not expecting a miracle but just to gain a little movement back :)
@ThunderDownUnder23 Perhaps begin with some myofascial release techniques, which includes moving skin and superficial fascia over deeper structures. Follow up with activities such as picking up marbles with you toes or placing your foot on a towel, then using your toes to scrunch the towel under your foot and then back the other way. If any of this is too painful, stop and try again the following day. Hope this helps and good luck to ya.
I always want to request Reflexology or at least...to spend extra time on the feet (I walk a lot). However, since I don't get a massage that often...by the time I do get one...my back has enough tension where I just say "concentrate on the back"
Oh, this looks so exquisite. Two questions: 1) Do you have any particular techniques for especially ticklish customers? 2) Have you ever had a woman you were foot-massaging become visibly or noticeably aroused from the treatment?
By seeing some of yours video, i see that you used a lot of frictions and rocking movement. If I'm not wrong, most therapist uses gliding strokes (effleurage). In my opinion, gliding strokes will leave some discomfort after massage (especially a deep tissue work), but friction and rocking movement doesn't. Is that really true?
Good observation. I utilize the distraction principle whereas the brain senses multiple sensations and learns that the best route is just to relax and go with the flow. It is essentially working with rather than working on a client. I can use gliding strokes over tense muscles and not elicit change, but the client must relax let go to make jostling movement happen.
i live in cyprus... i call to a beauty salon for massage... they told me the prices.... 60 euros for an hour :)) for me that sounds expencieve... i dont know for the US people if that cost too much
Your wife is a lucky woman. Glad I was able to help. I waitressed to put myself through massage school and I know first-hand how feet feel after a long day.

I am doing an awful job with this question - sorry.
Ulnar describes an area (it's an adjective) - ulna is the bone (noun)
Another example is femoral (adjective) verses femur (noun)
Hope this helps
LAmassageschool 1 year ago
@fourstringpredator : ulnar area is the forearm muscle
stopbeingafool77 1 year ago
@stopbeingafool77 thanks
fourstringpredator 1 year ago
It's the "pinkie" side of the hand/forearm.

Maybe you and your co-workers can trade foot massages at the end of a shift. Be sure to wipe feet off with a disinfectant wipe first.

After a long day at the coffee shop, this would be so luxurious! I love receiving a good foot massage.
