And they differed in the manga since they could go all out on detailing as they didn't need to worry about it on drawing it thousands of times per episode.
@Rammy451 It is mostly due to the 1979 animation techniques, it doesn't look like a superheated physical sword but rather a laser blade. Those mistakes were corrected in the 08th MS Team where the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom uses a black-colored sword.

I thought the Gouf's sword was a solid heat saber :o This one's got a beam saber that Zeon MS couldn't use back then.

you're right all the first models of Zeon axes or swords have only heat.
However, these changes are due to the transition from manga to anime
if you have the first manga you'll notice that all the mobile suits are slightly different
