If i was this poor animal...i would be prreettttyyyy bored being in a cage when im meant to be out in the wild running about and catching my food myself....
Your Dad and you are wrong for caging animals like this. Let them be in their natural habitat. And I hope you don't become one of the meals for them one day.
I think the people taht say this is a shame, why is taht wild animal in a cage?, if its getting fed right treated rigth and purring its face off with people who love and care for it, then go a-fucking head, people saying ''ANIMALS SHOULD BE IN NATURE, NOT IN HOUSES'' can i remind you all humansd traded there precious nature for houses and intellegance instead of braun and instinct, because we enjoy it more, IF COUGARS HAPPY THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP!
You said your Dad had a fishing and wildlife license? Does that include most big cats or is it just Mountain Lions? I am really wanting a cougar - I know that they are Puma's but not sure if they're the same as mountain lions? :)
For everyone saying things about not having them as pets. ALL 'pets' were once wild. Most exotic animals will eventually become slighty more and more domesticated through hundereds of generations to come.
I mean your usual domesticated house cat, they were once wild. A few still are, but once man takes over more and more alot of animals will become domesticated. Its unstoppable unless you can get every country in the world to make it illegal.
thts not really a pet if you cant really rub them without being scared trust mii i know i have a pet cougar and had her for 6 years now and im not scared to rub her and im only 13 years old lala will be 7 in june i keep mii pet im mii house and its a forest in mii yard with deers and fox and when i see a deer i let her in the yard and i have a small gate so when she catch it she come back to mii with it .
thts not really a pet if you cant really rub them without being scared trust mii i know i have a pet cougar and had her for 6 years now and im not scared to rub her and im only 13 years old lala will be 7 in june
That is NOT a pet. A pet is something that lives in your house. I hate when people say they have a pet, but then it's locked up in a cage in their backyard. Sorry, you don't have a pet, you just have an animal. I don't believe for 1 second that the mountain lion you have is happy. It's a MOUNTAIN lion. He would rather be in the wide open mountains with other lions of his kinds, not trapped in a small cage . How would you like to have to live in a dinky cage like that for the rest of your life?
How can you call it a pet? How is this a PET?? If you can touch it just through the fence, it´s not a pet, it´s just a sad animal in the cage! Jeez, your dad has a license so you´ve got to get something cool or what? Aaargh, this makes me sooo angry! And cut the crap about the "perfect size" of the cage, will you? Legal doesn´t necessarily means right!
stupid fucking people this animal can turn on anyone in a new york minuit, its not a bloody pet! it wont be long until the owner is on that mountain lions menu.
Ok Now I have the damn floor. First off who ever has this cat isnt doing things right. The cage should be much bigger and wider. Not to meantion Clean the Damn Cage. The cat isn't happy. She is alert but in a bad way. Their is a reason why your father has a fish. It won't eat a damn human. Your animal will. I don't care if you raised since it was a cub it's a wild animal!
@nadjahlover Ahh yes u are the smart one i see.Put a animal in a cage, aslong he has food and water to keep him alive, its ok.They live longer right...so whats the problem. No questions asked about the quality of their life nescessary..very smart (kuch) He's happier now he has a life that is against all of his wishes and intuition...
Stupid!People like u keep the animaltrade alive. And you give him a sad life just because it makes U happy.Dont give me that crap full of excuses why its ok.
@rotterdamse4life Simple answer.... It is okay. Period. Know what I'm going to do in the morning? I'm going to get out of bed with my bobcat....put on my nice leather boots, eat some bacon and eggs, drive to an auction in my car that has leather seats............probably eat a steak or something along those lines for dinner...Come home, love on my bobcat, and she will be very excited to see me and love on me FIRST. Sounds like you have good intentions, but you are greatly mislead.
Holy cow I want one!! I would love to see the reaction of people as I'm going on a jog with my pet mountain lion with me!! I would let her be a house pet with her own room though! How do you get a liscense for one? how much was it?
Holy cow I want one!! I would love to see the reaction of people as I'm going on a jog with my pet mountain lion with me!! I would let her be a house pet with her own room though!
@rotterdamse4life OMG... you throw the word idiot around like you know what it means... YOU IDIOT. This is NOT a wild animal. It was NOT taken from the wild. IDIOT. This cat never has to worry about parasites, a good meal or shelter. It will live far longer than its cousins in the wild. IDIOT. A person that allows themselves to be spoon fed an opinion without doing any research on the subject is the REAL IDIOT. Do some research will ya? Or do you want to be an idiot forever?
Ta be honest i think it cruel keepin an animal in a cage especially seem that there is nothing in it atall that even resembles its habitat. Prob to late ta let it go now as its prob used of depending on someone. Dont think people should go taking wild animals as pets, its not the same as dogs or cats which have been tamed for over a 1000 years and are now mainly reliant on humans
@sunlogothetis if u want it to be released , it would die of starvation do ur calculations first its captive and has to be captive for the rest of its life
@drome72501 yes that cage is too small for that cat, it needs to have atleast cage in yard to roam around im sorry but you are wrong on your own research
@drome72501 u moron.. do your research... mountain lions belong in the wild.. hense the cage should be the size of a mountain.. idiot.. please post the video of it ripping your face off too.. i had a friend once that had 2 of these and a lynx.. key word is had
@Caracabana people keep dogs in there backyard or birds in cages in the house.... same fuckig think dumbass. and if people want pets likes this its there buisness not yours.
Neither do domestic dogs or house cats belong in cages. They are just as much an animal as this cougar or a human. Believe me, If I was an animal that came from the wild, I would love to be catered to my whole life rather than have to fight and chase my food all day long. Its not up to you or any other human or even myself to dictate whether a certain animal should be kept where we want it to be kept. Thats the problem with humans, we try to control everything.
@drome72501 unless you have a wild rescue like big cat rescue for injured or uncared wild cats that were mistakenly kept as pets, i find this highly immoral... There's a difference between domesticated and wild animals. why did you chose to own a wild animal while domesticated cats are being euthanized. there's an over-abundance of domesticated animals... why not them?
You know domestic cats and dogs once were wild too? Yet nobody seems to have a problem with buying them. So it's okay to take wolves out of the wild and turn them into domestic dogs, but it's wrong to take mountain lions out of the wild and turn them into domestic cats. That is just plain hypocritical! I can't stand when people think taking animals out of the wild is okay when it happened centuries ago, but it's wrong when it happens today.
@Caro2471 It doesn't happen today in the U.S. well... legally anyway. Captive bred and born wild cats are sold to pet owners as pets. Not taken from the wild. It is illegal to bread a wild born animal in most circumstances. There are laws in all 50 states that protect the indigenous populations of wild cats. I agree Yutzy, if one is to go by that mind set, then humans should be still living in caves!!!
Okay, I was wondering about that. I don't agree with taking animals out of the wild myself either. What I'm trying to say is that if people were to breed mountain lions now, then in a few centuries pet mountain lions would be normal and nobody would have a problem with buying them. I think it's hypocritical to say that you can't take animals out of the wild today, but you can buy animals that have been taken out of the wild in the past. Either accept no animals or all of them.
@yutzy1 FYI.. Big Cat Rescue is one of the worst examples you can site for a sanctuary. The owner, Carole BAskin bought most of her cats for pets and for breeding!!! She feeds the public a line of crap to get more money. SHE IS NOT A REHABBER. She has NO rehab license!! Please do your research on BCR before you go around making such stupid comments. AND... there are thousands of "wild" cats in private hands. Being cared for and LOVED by their owners. FAR much better than BCR does.
@nadjahlover she bought them from fur farms and abused homes, do YOUR research. And, what wild cats should be loved in captivity in a small enclosure with concrete anyway? the whole system is flawed, and those who take advantage of it just to feed their selfishness deserve what "wild" instincts may erupt someday.
@yutzy1 Oh please. So you are saying that you talk to animals? I'd like to meet the animal/cat that told you it was not happy in a loving home with its human friends. Sounds to me that you have allowed yourself to be spoon fed an opinion by people that are USING big cats to scam the public out of money. BCR IS A ROAD SIDE ZOO. NOT A SANCTUARY. She cfharges admission to see her cats. PERIOD. And once again... how is it that you know the cats will and wishes? I'd love to hear this.
@yutzy1 And yes, she bought the bobcats from a fur farm.... she bought them FOR BREEDING. Do your homework. She bought almost all her cats as pets or for breeding. I have seen the USDA paperwork on these cats.... have you? If not, give me an email address... I'd be more than happy to send them to you. And, all animals, cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, goats... HUMANS use to live in the wild. If I were to live by YOUR idiotic reasoning... I'd be living in a cave! Oh yeah,,, and so would you.
@yutzy1 So you advocate the injuring of a human being? Wow, says a lot about you. Yes, it does sound like you are one of Carole's cronies. Do this..write down how many people get injured by captive cats... then write down how many people per year get injured by lightning. You may be surprised. Then write down how many people get injured by cars. I think your efforts would be better used if you would advocate for illegalization of cars! Please get your facts straight.
@yutzy1 Oh yes, and the latest on Carole's B.S..... she STOLE 3 bobcat kittens from the State of Alabama... watch for stories.. She took them illegally from the state and brought them illegally into Florida. Yes...she did! She saw them as little money makers. She ended up killing 2 of the kittens because she has NO KNOWLEDGE of how to care for infant bobcat kittens. Just because she titled herself with a name, does not make her knowledgeable. Once again, a Liar, con, murderer, and thief!
@yutzy1 Are you really that ignorant? SHE WAS A BREEDER!!!! She admits that herself! Also the portion of this cats enclosure is only a SMALL part of the entire enclosure. You obviously do not know anything about the bond that a cat has with its humans. You will never understand that, with your attitude. People like you will make these cats go extinct. Gone.. poof... forever. THEN... cry that they are gone. Makes me want to puke.
@nadjahlover Dont you EVER tell me that i'm the one thats going to make cats go extinct.I'm the one that works with PANTHERA, an organization you probably never even heard of.In COUNTRIES you never even heard of.With WILDCATS you've never even heard of.Go ahead and puke.and then pass out and choke on it.
