  • Sometimes I find I have to make my own not because i'm a size 16 but because I just can't find something nice. And addition-elle make dresses in that bouncy stretchy fabric that show off all your bumps and lumps,GAH!! I also go to the second hand stores.

  • You need to check out debshops.com...they have the BEST plus size dress selection! I buy all of my dresses there!

  • I'm a 4 in jeans and x-small to small in tops. How do people live like this?

  • Check out my junior plus size clothing store online! Sheek Designs by Amy K.,Inc.

Sign up for my emails on my site and give me your feedback!

    Sizes: 11/12-25/26

Petite & Average Cut Designer Jeans/Dresses/Skirts/Tops

  • Dresses are very very very hard to find for plus size girls!!! I hate it!

  • Try torrid !

  • Have you tried True Colour Venus Plus Size Clothing? It is an online store dedicated to young ladies & teens who love modern, trendy fashions. During grand opening, No Tax & 30% off everything. Free Delivery on order of $150.

Don't feel bad about yourself becoz you are a gorgeous girl. Who cares what others say. Beauty is from confidence within! Stop being unhappy with yourself :)

  • I have to order my shit online because I can't find anything in stores.

  • I know this video was posted years ago, but would love to know how things are looking now - in terms of plus-size clothing etc. And want you to know that my daughter is a designer, specializing in plus-size. But it's tough out there for designers who have no financial backing. So, her selections are limited right now. But as things improve, she'll be able to expand her collection. Her company is Annalogy. Hang in there!

  • Your eyes remind me of Heather's (the vampire girl). It's a compliment. Sorry you couldn't find something in your size. Don't believe the hype - most of the plus-size stores in the US still have fugly clothes. You have to really dig.

  • go online

  • try maurices! their amazing!!!

  • try maurices!

  • hey dont feel bad i think your pretty

  • I agree with you completely. I'm from Ontario, and there are very few plus size options. I know it may be harder for you in B.C but if you hunt for small, independantly owned boutiques you can find some great buys. There are quite a few small shops that cater to plus sized women. (: I have gone into many, many small stores dominated by older women's clothes and have hunted and searched to find a few items suitable.

I agree with you, shopping plus size clothing is very frusterating and hard.

  • Well maybe that is a a sign and if u can't find anything well BEGGARS CAN'T BE CHOSers so if ur big h have to take what u can get

  • have u tried learning to sew? with a real simple pattern and a pretty piece of fabric you can make stuff so easily and fit to your own size! i know the feeling believe me. i live in new zealand now, and i cannot find even bras to fit! its such a piss off!

  • So you're a weird size, quite whining! I'm tall and can't go into a store and buy a pair of pants or a one-piece swimsuit. I can't wear most dresses because they're too short and I happen to have an odd bra size so I have a hard time finding bras, too.

It sucks but GET OVER IT. You work with what you've got, get friendly with a tailor, or learn how to sew.

  • i am a big girl. size 30/32. the place where i shop for all my clothing called THE AVENUE. they carry sizes from 14 all the way up to size 32. they have nice, trendy, and fashionable clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. all there clothes are so not for old ladies. check it out.

  • i feel your pain dear

  • @licious04 I'm from Canada (Ontario) and I'm plus size, 14-16 have you tried Laura Plus? That's where I get my dresses from! It's kind of expensive ($150-$200 for a dress)...I knwo you posted this a looooong time ago, lol but I was just sharing this with you.

  • GIrl where you live??? We dont have that problem where we live... Well i hope you found ur nice dress... Sorry you had to go through that.. and your very pretty

  • I understand how you feel. Either it's extremely expensive or they don't come in a bigger size. Or they look like they were meant for 50 year olds but I've learned that they are just persuading us to get healthy and loose weight which I can understand but it sucks when you have a big event coming up and you can't feel pretty.

  • dress barn!

  • ughh i know what you mean girl...i found my prom dress at fashion bug..it was super cute..:)

  • @willowpopstar i have heard about that place but never went in but do they really have cute clothes?

  • HI try fashion bug if you have one of those and look online good luck

  • >___> imagine trying to find petite stores -- they all went out of business D: im only 4'11", and im not even that thin, but with vanity sizing i went from a size 4 (stuff from thrift store) to a size 00 and even that does not fit now (ps: i have been the same weight since 13).

it seems clothing lines kinda stop in the middle and leave us ppl on the ends of the spectrum out...esp. us petites in the U.S. D:

    anyway, ure pretty. :3

  • CATWALKPLUS. COM, they go up to 6x !,really sexy trendy clothes ,comparable to torrids style..its an ebay store ,cheap prices..thanks for the vid!

  • I would recommend looking in Torrid. It's a very fashionable plus size store. I don't know if they have dresses, but you could take a look

  • dont feel bad i know how u feel! im a size 15 and im called "fat" now!! its all the stupid media, and the models and ughh. its a proven fact, the AVERAGE WEIGHT for women in the us is a size 13. but we are called fat. and i totally agree with you about how they make our cloths look like we are old women. lol it sucks! I shop at torrid, and i still get mad. good luck hun! ur beautiful!

  • You have to shop online sweety...Torrid, Alloy, Delia, Newport News, Faith 21, Wet Seal, OneStopPlus, Size Appeal...there are SO many places with trendy plus size clothes you just have to look. Even WalMart and Target have plus size. It also helps to start an outfit with good foundation, IE spanx, a girdle, a corset, nice control top tights. Message me for more places to shop.

  • i so know how you feel.. ick.. try HSN or QVC online. they have alot of plus size stuff usually.. i hate the whole clothing thing.. it dosen't make since..

  • gurl i feell yu i swear

most stores only hold stick skinny sizes or old ass women clothes

nd thts jus not fair :[

i love debs dots nd SUMTiMES torrid.

    they have great stuff :]

  • Aww I understand how you feel! At least they're having more plus clothes available.. forever 21 now carries plus size clothing brand named Faith

  • u look stunning hunny.

  • You don't even look like a plus girl! Wow, it's sad that someone even normal like you is considered fat now. I hate the media

  • IM SORRY GURL

  • try living in malaysia lol the plus size clothing are imported... means you hv to pay more.. pay more meaning u can buy less lol... the sad part is... most of designs are meant for women aged 40++... if you think finding clothes are hard... try to find lingeries for plus size here lol... lame bras and lousy granny panties... comfortable??? yes... but doesnt suit me... i am young i want to look good to feel good lol....

  • Its easily fixed when i found myself (20yr old male) having to wear old mens clothes because it was the only stuff that would fit me, drop some weight, so far iv dropped 32 pounds. you can do it, you have your motivation, so now do something about it!

  • oh poor thing! well go to dress barn it has awesome dresses. ur not even that fat ur soo pretty.

  • im a size 14-15 is that plus size?

  • yea

  • @LoverxHater01 Not in my book.

  • one shirt at a plus sized clothing store here in canada is atleast 50$

  • @licious04 Well duhh It takes twice as much fabric as a $25 dollar moo moo..

  • Comment removed

  • That is not true. Plus sized clothing is just as expensive, if not more. Look at additionelle for example....a pair of nice jeans can run you to 100$...when my friend can buy two pairs of jeans at bluenotes for less than that!!! There are so many good deals at le chateau and places like that but they only make clothes for thin people.

  • i agree!

its terrible that we have no option for cheaper clothes!

im losing weight right now, and i cannot wait untill i can walk into anystore that i want.. and buy anything!

my prom dress i bought at penningtons... now i believe they dont have prom dresses.. i lucked out..

    i hope u find something!

    (im in canada too btw)

  • wow stereotype much?

plus size girls have to pay more, and most of them are willing to pay more because they have to try twice as hard to look good.

  • I think that you read my post the wrong way. I know for a FACT that US, plus size women complain about how much WE have to pay for TRENDY, QUALITY plus size clothes. So sorry that we disagree. But its a FACT, im not making this up.

  • you're right... I did read it wrong.

    I agree with you. lol

  • SAme here-It really makes you feel really bad and quite down, they should definitely do something about it...

  • I know how you feel, it seems like all fashion designers think everyone is a size 0-4. It's so hard to find clothes for upper sizes. i'm a size 16 or 18 and when I go shopping it gets me so frustrated because I can't find anything that just 'Fits'. I wish they would make stores for plus sizes.

  • Im size 13 is that plus like in teens?

  • omg i had the same problem... i hate trying to go find clothes

  • I wear a size 22 bottom, a 24 top and i have no problem finding clothes. I dress pretty hot actually. I use my imagination and have things altered.

  • I agree. There isnt many plus size stores. Im 15, and when i shop for dresses like for homecoming or other things i have to start shopping months ahead because the only thing that fits me is old lady clothes. haha. you should try torrid if your not worried about spending too much. I do love torrids clothes but i hate their prices, if you know what i mean. hope i helped.

  • Omg i know what you mean! It's ridiculous how stores seem to only think Old ladies wear plus size hahaha. This needs to change!

  • TORRID! <3

  • try maybe see the dress u like and buy the cloth and make it

  • i feel u, im 14 yrs and im size 16 n i cant find a dress for a quinceanera. it is so fusturating! we need more plus size clothing that FITS GOOD!

  • exact same for me..i am 14 and size 16... if you go to Laura Plus i dunno if they have it where you are but htey have it in Canada..they have good dresses in size 18..thats where i got my grade 8 graduation dress..and the prices are reasonable

  • It depends how the clothing is made- most plus size clothing is just larger versions of clothing made for smaller people. Since plus size young women have different body shapes we need clothing that compliments our bodies rather than oversized halter tops.

  • I dont even need to finish the video i can tell your from canada...cuz of the stores you named...trust me CANADA SUCKS when it comes to selling plus size clothing period...they have sooo many more options in the states...i moved up here a couple months ago and i hate going shopping...plus the clothes are so expensive i caint wait to go to the states and go shopping

  • u should really try torrid

  • online is the way i suppose. Torrid is the only place ther is in the world that sells ok plus size clothes sometimes they do have some hot things. there needs to be a much more cutting edge contemporary high street brand like Topshop. i dont want to look 'nice' i like to look wicked want to look like my self. im a 'fashion rebel' but a fat one so i feel ur pain llcious04...i have to use my imagination fashion no how to look hot hmm maybe i should start blogging?

    anyways

    keep ur head up miss

  • I totally agree with you Applebaum! Torrid is clothes are 'ok' I don't want to wear 'ok' clothing, I want the type of clothes that make necks break, you feel me? I deconstruct and cut my tops and jeans to look edgy and stylish. Its not the best, but its all I can do until someone makes a clothing line that's actually outstanding. You should start blogging because I could tell me and you would get along lol.

  • i believe that i have a pretty good sense of stlye and would embrace that if i could find plus size fasion here in the uk for women in there 20's, all the clothes arre targeted for older women. i try and hunt in places like evans, and even the new plus size range in new look, but its all either to old or to boring. i look at the stuff on the shelves for a smaller woman, even the stuff thats not to revealing, just nice, and wish they would make it in my size. and i dont want to change, im happy.

  • Hey girl, I saw your video, and just want to let you know that you are not alone. I was exactly like you in high school, and up until recently. We are in Australia, and there was nothing really available for people under 50, and forget about it if you are over a size 24! So we set up our own online clothing store for plus sized women, and am loving it! The response we get from women all over Aus is great, and our lines of clothing are growing....

  • im plus size and i find things pretty easy i go to lane bryant, target, ashley stewart, kohls, macys, jcpennys...sometimes, rainbow, one touch, marshalls, tj maxx, even mariannes, east pinckens, 10 spot, old navy, i should become a srylist...u can also order some cute dresses online.....im happy that i dont live in canada cuz im quite tha fashionista.......................

  • well we don't have all those stores here, but i wouldn't pass up being Canadian to have more clothing stores. We have it pretty good here in Canada on so many other levels...i just have to drive down to the states once in a while to go shopping, no biggie!

  • This is so true! It is especially bad for me because where I'm from we don't even have torrids or lane bryant. Dont get me wrong I'm proud of my size, but I hate shopping for clothes. Why does everyone think that just because your big you want to look like someones great granny! Something has to be done about this!

  • Oh no! NOT velvet. Say it isn't so. UGH! Now we can look like a huge velvet rug. That is just great. LOL!

  • I love designing clothes and I'm plus sized...everyone support me and I'll give you the bestest, sexiest clothes EVER! kidding...yet Those skinny girls would be so jealous ;) haha

  • Totally. I went looking for a swim suit at Target the other day. It was totally horrid. Someone needs to tell them they need a designer who IS plus sized to design their plus sized people. It's ridiculous.

  • It really is hard to find size sexy, as I call us, clothes.

Go to Target, or Torrid. But I'd go to Torrid first because they've got some really sexy ish for us.

  • she's right I mean do they think that skinny women are the only one's that can have nice clothing

  • Did you try Torrid?

  • do*

  • where in bc to u live ?

  • i hear ya there i wish that they had better looking clothes for us pluss size ladies i am only 31 and it sucks i dont wanna dress like im old i dont feel old nore do i want to dress old good luck sweetie 5 stars and im subscribing

  • I know how you feel. I wear a 22. I had to have my high school grad dress made. I felt out of place. There is a lack of places to shop for women of plus size.

  • old navy has some now. torrid is good too. i hear your frustration with finding dresses. sometimes the clothes are HORRIBLE!

  • Oh sweetie, so sorry you're going through it. I always have problems to find long dresses because I'm too tall.

You should draw your dress and get it made.

    Good luck!! hugs

  • perhaps you could get something made? then it would be unique

  • by the way, I think you are the perfect size! voluptuous and beautiful! I know the fashion world thinks otherwise, but seriously, fashion models are like size -50! Normal humans are not that small!!!

  • Thanks kristin...that means a lot to me. I know "normal models" are like waifs but still you know how it is. I used to be a size 22 until i lost a bit of weight and I am still having problems. Its very frustrating, as u know

  • I know, it is total hell. I think you could be a beautiful plus size model...how tall are you? You should totally check it out. I guess if you are like 4 ft. tall it wouldn't work, but...heh if you are like 5'6" or above maybe...oh, I found another place...this is the one with sexy, cute, sophisticated clothes kiyonna dot com...my advice about online shopping is to just make sure to measure

  • I so understand you on everything that you are saying if i go shopping i end up binging and crying myself to sleep or crying as soon as something dosent fit me and i leave the store pist off! it fucking sucks thats the reason why i was thinking of going to fashion school to make plus size clothes so we can all have something beautiful to wear! instead of old lady clothes like you say lol

  • are there any stores over there called dots, fashion bug, rainbow, have you tried jcpenny???

  • We don't have any of those places here...I could go to the jcpenny in the states I suppose. Thanks!!

  • well, i have lists of online stores, but there is also torrid dot com ...more of a rocker/sexy girl site jjill is more gapish up to sizes 28 ulla popken dot com has some cute stuff let me know if you need more :)

  • Thanks I'll check them out kristin...thanks!!!

  • check out igigi dot com so many cute things!

  • Yah, I totally hate plus size shopping. I just shop everything online anymore, except for sometimes I go to Catherines. Anyway, I am not even close to size 18! If you want some good online places, I know of some. Let me know...and some of them have nice non-granny stuff. :)
