  • this is why i don't and will not live in NYC. If the NYPD military has that much time to do this then we have a problem. here were i live only the US military does this on base(for drills mostly)

  • no parking ! im jimmy justice!!wooo!!

    hahahah its joke

  • The beast is a great car! look up the stats of this car, damn -lol-

  • Niko robbery the bank whit pegorino -.-

  • Sorry bout that liberty, I got a five star just now

  • Looks like a surge drill.

  • Read the NYPD manual.. Its not a show-off, or a parade, or just for funsies... its a planned response to a significant event; i.e. another terrorist attack, natural disaster, or likewise. The only way to be efficient at something, is to practice it. Without practice, they would be unprepared and chaotic. Police work is practice and training, practice and training, practice and training... so when the time comes to actually respond, you revert to your training..

  • cool its like cop after cop after cop

  • People will have no respect for lights and sirens when they use them for no reason...

  • COOL!

  • As a New York State Resident and one whom pays their Taxes for their Paychecks/Gas/Car Maintence, ETC....This show off is a WASTE of TIME and MONEY! If they have that many officers bored, Im sure we, as Citizens, can find a more constructive way they can spend our money, ONLY THIS TIME PROTECTING and SERVING! This aint Macy's Day Parade!

  • @DHurley21

The NYPD has over 37,000 officers. Now granted, not all 37,000 officers are on patrol at the same time, but still, the surge drill doesn't even cause a dent in the coverage of the city.

  • @DHurley21 They serve a purpose dumbass... its called POLICE PRESENCE.

  • @DHurley21 then stop electing idiot lib turds like Bloomberg. Rudy cleaned the city up, cut welfare, inproved schools, and made NYC what it is today.

  • Ideal time to commit a crime, while they are organising their show off parade, then the crims can go and mug people... Stupid

  • Actually they are simply deploying the road units at the beginning of a shift, there are still tons of police all over the place on foot and horseback even.

    - A

  • @sketchieninja If you can knock over 5 banks in the 30 seconds it takes for them to do it, go for it.

  • @sketchieninja yeah try that in times square and see how many plain clothes officers jump on you.

  • @sketchieninja you just embaraased yourself lol

  • @sketchieninja theyre not all from the same precinct, they get one car from each precinct in the city.

  • this event wat time of year is this normaly

    and wre is it

  • @oto24680 nypd does this everyday of the year every morning.

  • thanks

    for telling me

  • awesome 5/5 imagine if 6 trucks went by with people with rocket launchers the hole of manhatten police would chase them now that would be cool

  • NYPD DO GOOD

  • i know its a surge drill, but did god some to visit?

  • No... For God, they use their fleet of Helicopters.... Can't keep him stuck in traffic...

  • __ +1 __

  • No not all. But some.

  • cool depart ^^

  • I suppose if I were cynical (and I am) I would think the only purpose this serves is to let the law abiding people know they are in charge. The criminal wouldn't be deterred by this nonsense.

  • I guess you've never been to nyc.

  • Not since 9/11. I used to live there in NYC and I remember the WTC being built.

  • Crime is at an all time low. Presence is part of that.

  • So, let me understand you, your saying a criminal will commit a crime next to a police officer? Police presence has greater probability of lower crime.

  • Yes. I know by personal experience since I see almost every day.

  • go up to a cop and say that

  • Lol in my visit to new york i didnt see this but i was there during the time when a crane colapsed and loads of police ambulances and fire trucks went.

  • What a great reminder...very cool

  • Get ready NY the shit is going to hit the fan

  • ROFL ~!!!

  • i dont believe that they do that everyday it would be so hard to organise everyday and doing that is putting less cops on the street. i think they should only do it once a week or somethin.

  • It's not that hard to organize. It takes them about an hour to assemble, and i've been there 3 days in a row where they've done this.

  • No problem!

  • Hey IBook your videos are really cool, is this like every few months or something? Its cool that you taped it!

  • Every day at 2 pm. I can get better coverage next time i have the chance.

  • EVERYDAY!? WOW! Thats impressive, I can't remember the last time I saw the police in my region, but I don't think that counts 'coz I live in a different country! :)

  • As impressive as it may seem, NYC needs about double its current number of police officers for the city to be ready for any incident. People moving, retiring, and getting desk jobs means less presence on the streets of a city that needs such a presence in a time of great change and rebirth.

  • It certainly is a big place. Sounds pretty loud on your video with all those sirens! I'd be deaf!

  • The sirens echo off the buildings, and it is in times square so there are lots of people.

  • Hi Ibook, I am in NYC in two weeks. Do they normally do the same route more or less, ie. If I wait in Times Square at 2pm, do you think I would see them?? Thx mate

  • I am pretty sure they do it every day at 2 pm, however i've not been in times square around that time in a while, they may have moved the time later or earlier.

  • Thx for the answer!!!

  • awesome

  • Nice Surge Drill video!!!

  • I work for the police department in Arizona and we have roll outs just like that in case of natural disasters! We also have NYPDs sirens in all of our cars!

  • Awesome!

  • i wonder what might tourist think of that

  • A few of them asked me what it was for, they probably think it is impressive, which is the point. :)

  • Nice Surge Drill Video!!!

  • Damn shame that more departments aren't staffed like the NYPD. They'd probably be more effective. In MD if you see a State Trooper pull someone over, you're pretty much clear for awhile and won't see another one.

  • why do they do that in dc they just drive an a very long line

  • Yea, about 150 cars participate that i can see.

  • oh men a lot of cops no?
