The "post-racial" dialogue confuses the concepts of racial acceptance and racial blindness. It's cool if a person wants to self-identify without reference to race, or if (s)he identifies with each component of their racial heritage (a la Tiger Woods = "Camblasia"). But, this notion that Obama is not black is laughable. First, Obama self-identifies as black. Second, according to the one-drop racial schema that has dominated this country for hundreds of years he's Black. Third, have you seen him?
