Actually, these arrests wasnt illegal. Its called a preventive arrest, and its used to make sure, that things doesnt involve into streeghtfighting. There was a problem with the transport to the cop15-prison tho, so people had to wait on the ground for hours, wich wasnt allright. All in all great policework during the cop15.

In this case it is arrest of a group of people, who has allready shown their ill will by throwing rocks and smashing windows. They are arrested before things get out of hand to prevent the smashing of publinc and rivate property and harm to the protesters, the police and innocent bystanders.

Apart from getting the police to change their ways (now creating blackblockers) one important thing is to exclude the black block from demonstrations. This could be done by demonstrants, leadership for demonstations asking them to leave. The black block should be asked to leave by organisers and other demonstrants before starting to march. I told one of the black blockers that were lined up close to my group that their presence made me feel bad.

Good idea, but that has been tried. At cop15, the police worked closely together with the organizers of the big demonstrations, and the organizers had arrenged guards within the demonstrations, but they didnt seem to be able to handle it. But the idea is good - wish it could work.
