I was in a side crash with mine. Saved my 3 year old son from getting hurt.... If only they built them with a decent transmission which didn't slip and hesitate.... Safe Piece of junk!!!
Well, it is safe because of it's height. SUVs are very high, and that makes them safer in side crashes. But of course, without side airbags, they are nothing.
Amen man, thats what Explorers and other SUVs do when their upper weight gets transferred during a side impact, its no coinsidence that the video cuts off before the truck stops.
i think it has more do with the suspension,suvs suspension is soft to deal with there weight,suvs with stiff suspension arn't much worse then cars,but any car,truck,or suv can roll easily under the wrong curcumtances.Suvs tend to drift,and its when the driver counter steers that they tend to roll.
We had a very bad snow storm and we had to go somewhere and our explorer did PERFECT!

They have new technology that stops the explorer from rolling. I just got a new one and it is solid as a rock.
