The scallop is absolutely fine. The tide will come in at night and wash him back where he needs to go. A beached whale is completely different, they're too big to be washed back by the tides.

@SilentAssassin450 your right, i'm with you. I don't care WHAT the animal or creature is - if it's in need of a little bit of help - and in this case really, How Hard would it have been to pick him up - Walk the few feet to waters 3edge and plunk him back into the Ocean?

you're Absolutely right on the money here - a whale? a seal? you betcha there'd have been camera crews and everything out there.

But for this tiny little scallop? Just Let him die a miserable death in the sun.

@SilentAssassin450 Part of the reason people don't sympathize with a scallop is because it can't even really be considered a sentient creature. This is a living animal that doesn't even have a brain. There's also the fact that it has no eyes or, really, any way of expressing itself (but it can't because it doesn't have a brain). There's also the fact that it's a food item. Go talk to PETA, they'd love to rescue that scallop.
