I myself have had a pc all my life but this year i purchased a macbook pro, and i cant use pcs anymore. The macbook is just such a great tool to have whether its for work, school, or just surfing the web. It also has a simple sleek, design that makes it very easy to trevel with. Just for the record, putting the constant disappointment that Sony Vaios bring to their saddened costumers aside, including lacking performance, cheap crappy parts, shitty software (inc. windows) crappy batteries, unreliability, thickness, weight and so on... these Vaios in the ad, ladies and gentlemen, aren't even made of what the macbook pros are made of, it's just trashy plastic rip off that tries to be a mac wannabe looker.
On the side note, you have to spend over $1800 for a decent Macbook pro to be able to handle casual gaming and have longevity. But from what my buddy has told me, it is worth it. He's had his for over 4 years and it still works good. Don't expect to get the little 13" MBP and be satisfied with gaming. Use that one just for school.
I bought the VPCF1 about a year ago, used it for school. Thought if I paid over $1000 i would be able to play simple games like wow and cs which was quick and easy fun.
Sony honestly does not know how to build laptops that can enable people to use it for school and casual gaming because my a/c adapter socket is loose and won't charge anymore. The fan literally kicks up so loud even if I am simply working on word and a couple of pdfs. I am never going to buy Sony again. I spent $1200 :(
Both are good notebooks, but for me the macbook looks better, as for building your own, its much less of a pain to just buy a laptop, since it'd be super difficult to find all the necessary parts to build one...

On the side note, you have to spend over $1800 for a decent Macbook pro to be able to handle casual gaming and have longevity. But from what my buddy has told me, it is worth it. He's had his for over 4 years and it still works good. Don't expect to get the little 13" MBP and be satisfied with gaming. Use that one just for school.

I bought the VPCF1 about a year ago, used it for school. Thought if I paid over $1000 i would be able to play simple games like wow and cs which was quick and easy fun.
Sony honestly does not know how to build laptops that can enable people to use it for school and casual gaming because my a/c adapter socket is loose and won't charge anymore. The fan literally kicks up so loud even if I am simply working on word and a couple of pdfs. I am never going to buy Sony again. I spent $1200 :(

Both are good notebooks, but for me the macbook looks better, as for building your own, its much less of a pain to just buy a laptop, since it'd be super difficult to find all the necessary parts to build one...

Well in getting a MacBook pro because it is an all in one and it's beautiful. Everyone needs to admit to that. The other day my mom saw the MacBook and said wow, she normally hates computers. If you want true performance get a windows os laptop. BTW pc is valid for every computer.

Apple chooses aluminum because, as anyone in the industry knows, it's stupidly cheap to produce. Since Apple works very hard to minimize manufacturing costs while artificially inflating end user price tags, this comes as absolutely no surprise to anyone who hasn't sat and thought about it.

I am currently looking at replacing my macbook with a sony vaio s series. Will never buy a mac again. Would rather spend the time trying to get my laptop with hackintosh capable components

@lite1973 i feel like you forgot to read my comment. I clearly mention that I have to use windows for most of my electrical engineering software. If all my software worked in OSX I would use it. Its a beautiful OS don't get me wrong. It just runs on glorified under par overpriced hardware. and MrHawaiibound windows 7 works amazing in my virtual machine as well because there is a standard hardware layer in between the two. windows 7 sees the generic hardware of the vm.

Ive been a PC my whole life and always use a PC and still use PC but Mac kicks PC's ass. Mac is way better, im making the switch in two years when i purchase my college laptop, either the 15" highend macbook pro or the 17" baseline model. Apple FTW!!!!!!!

@hiian123 Get the 15", that 2" in screen size doesn't really add much funtionality, and makes it fairly inconvenient when you're going from A to B with it. It's just kind of big. I thought my gf was an idiot when she bought the 15, but the size really hasn't bothered us at all. In short, higher end=longer technological relevance
