This is slightly misleading. There is zero work, but only in terms of being able to count units of work in terms of the car moving some distance. Energy is most certainly being expended, but you'd count the units of work done in some other way, in terms of the heat expended from the person exerting their muscles. I just don't want u to think that b/c you don't see something moving, heat isn't being radiated from the person's body... Energy doesn't stop, it just can't be counted up using the car.
But the exertion of energy does not necessarily equal work. Like the formula said, work=force x distance. So
to say that there is zero work "but only in terms of being able to count units of work in terms of the car moving some distance" is like saying there is no heat at 0 degrees Kelvin but only in terms of there not being an type of movement even at a molecular level.....you're saying that it fits the definition but only if you're following the definition.
@MXZCharlie For children, they only can pay attention to cartoons. For middle and high schoolers, they focus on force of gravity and math. I think it focuses more on high school. I never took physics in high school.
@xgipsonx None. All the various chemical elements which went into creating humans on the earth had to first come from the earth. We're just products of recycling.
this reminds me of the beginning of The Best of Both Worlds in Star Trek TNG where data is playing poker with Einstine, Newton, and Stephan Hawking on the holodeck
I'm using it with my 5th graders. Thank you for continuing to post these!

Nice, simple, direct, entertaining. This is very informative, even for the college level (we are assigned to watch this for class!)

is there an episode on momentum?

Yes. The first ep. is about inertia which sort of follows up to momentum. Watch episode 1. You'll learn about momentum in less than 5 minutes.
