I remember when he did the Ustream commentary on the Uwe Boll movie, House of the Dead. it was hilarious. "Im Uvve Boll from GERMANY!!!". Armake is one of the underrated geniuses. I miss his vids so much.
Finally! Someone who agrees that the latest Alone in the Dark was kickass. Sure, it had plenty of issues, but anyone who is a gamer will tell you that part of the challenge is getting through this game. Kudos on the review man.
I'm actually tempted to go over this game again, but this time with the redux version they put on the PS3, since they changed A LOT of things from the Xbox 360 and PC version of the game.
@ChaosBahamut I've been e-mailing GOG for almost a year now to get the original AITD(the damn CD version at that, so people get the soundtrack you hear in the intro of this review) on there, and I guess they finally cracked. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one who wanted that game on there, along with Realms of the Haunting (which is an absolutely amazing game).
@TheWaste0Time I'd also like to note that imo your review of this game was pretty much spot on. Had some rough edges and the end-game grind was annoying (hate them evil roots), but overall I'd give it a "Buy".

i love how much detail they put into the car sequence. i mean just the world collapising, people screaming, cars on fire its PERFECT i loved the music to that was great!!!
Now, I must also say, that even on the Wii version, the controls at first might be a tad strange. They are breeze once you get used to them and ending regardless, this is still a fantastic game.

Armake and many others pointed out that 'professional reviewers' opinions can not be trusted; Most of the are biased, prejudiced, and one-sided, and don't forget poorly written and some reviewers ARE paid to do a one-sided review (biased or not), not to mention most of these professionals are a bunch of immature babies (in their attitudes).
To repeat again, people at places like IGN, Game Informer & the like, can not be trusted for their 'opinions'...

I think it's unfair for Armake to criticize other reviewers for nitpicking when he does it almost all the time. Remember how he said Lair had so many "game-breaking" issues, yet he liked it? Also, being biased and being one-sided are the SAME. But having a bias actually means you have a strong opinion about something. If a critic has a strong dislike for a game, then of course theyre not going to give it a good review...
They are paid to give an opinion based on facts and logic, not bias and bullshit, Half the reviews of this game are both full of biased statements, and loaded with bullshit.
I know what you mean, Armake. This game is not bad at all. Yes, the controls are a little crippled, but it's so innovative. It's the very first of its kind. True critics like you encourage gaming companies to make more games like this and improve on the controls. Critics who are paid to do reviews will get frustrated and tell you not to play this game because of the shitty controls. But you are right: the presentation is awesome, the story is awesome, and the music is awesome.
And by the way, I made it past that driving sequence. It really wasn't that hard as soon as I got used to the driving controls. The invisible barriers and wall glitches that people complain about did not happen to me one time out of about 50+ attempts. Sure, people will die a lot playing this game, but the checkpoints are so close to each other that it really doesn't matter, plus you can skip the sequences if it's too difficult. This game is too forgiving for anyone to say that it sucks.
